Question for JeffState Nursing Student

I am applying for Fall semester at Jefferson State - Shelby - However, I will not be taking classes over the summer - Baby boy is due June:yeah: I would like to start preparing for classes. Could you recommend anything I can work on over the summer? If accepted I should be taking Fundamental, Pharm & something else? Any suggestions for getting prepared?

I really appreciate any guidance you may have for me. :bugeyes:With a new baby on the way I would like to know what to expect and try to be organized....

I just Graduated last fall 10, I say please know Fluid and electrolytes backwards and fowards, you want take a test on it till second semester, but you will need it your whole career, and when you Graduate,and I knowyou will please take the Hurst Review.

Well I'm doing a cna class now at Lawson and we've actually just done some basic conversions (oz to cc- multiply oz. By 30 to get cc) are you referring to those type of conversions?

Yes, and converting g, mg, mcg, L, mL, kg, etc.

So is itreally worth it to try so hard to get into jeff state?? I've heard it was a good school. Some even go far to say that nurses from jeff state are more credible and are preferred even over those with a uab bsn attached to their name! Can anyone verify this?

Hi just wanted to know if there are validations for ob and Peds (106) at jeff state?

No validations in peds or o.b. also peds is 106c during 2nd semster and o.b. is 106D during 3rd the only validations are on handwashing, putting on sterile gloves, sterile field, and injections and you are not timed anymore oh yeah and you have to do a head to toe assessment but they only made us do certain systems they did'nt make us do the whole thing futurernjap someting you could do while you wait for school to start is learn the cranial nerves 1-12 and how you test them

my question is do they count the problem wrong if you dont do it with there formula? because i have my own way of figuring out the problems

I asked the same question to the campus chairperson brenda oneal- she told me it depends on the teacher. Some are picky, some are not.
