Question about cover letter

How do I find the name of the person to address the cover letter to? I am applying at several hospitals for new grad programs and would like to address the letter correctly HELP! :D

I would just call the main number to the hospital and ask for the nurse manager's name in what ever dept you are applying for.

Most hospitals in my area require you apply online.. which goes to human resources. So, you may find it doesn't matter. Much admonishment about NO PAPER RESUMES WILL BE ACCEPTED. This especially true if a NG. They state that they will forward your info if they see a "fit". Funny how ambiguous the positions listed for NG's are. No specifics. Even hard to really tell who exactly you would be addressing if in a large facility. A friend of mine was starting to follow up re: her applications made, and got her head bit off when she tried to inquire to get a little more info about who was the NM contact, etc. Some places do not like that kind of initiative. This probably all has to do with the economy. If you are no longer desperately needed, you become irritating.

I have just made about a zillion calls in the last half hour, and not one place have I had any success in getting a name! I got passed all around and left a bunch of voicemails so perhaps when I get a call back. I got send mostly to Nurse Recruiters.

As a student graduating in May is there a nurse recruiter I should be working with? Where would I find one?

A nurse recruiter is an RN who works in recruitment in the HR dept of the hospitals. They aren't freelance that you contact to help you find a job. Call the HR dept and ask for the name of the nurse recruiter that is processing your application for that particular position and address your cover letter to him/her. I found a lot of places weren't too willing to give out the manager's name so I just addressed my cover letters to the nurse recruiter at the hospital.
