Hi, I'm new here. I know I'm jumping the gun since I haven't even started my prereqs but I was wondering what the schedule is like at Chabot. I'm hoping to apply there in a few years. I have three kids so I'm just planning ahead a little and trying to get an idea of the time commitment. My kids will be in three different schools and I am the primary driver/care taker/etc without much help plus one has a disability. Ugh. Will this even be doable for me? They are in school from 8:30-3:00. Am I being unrealistic thinking that I can do nursing school while they are in school?
Ok now for my second question. How competitive is Chabot? I'm in Danville so Chabot/Las Positas will be the closest options for me. I'm not sure that I can travel much further than that given my circumstances with the kids. I'm so nervous that I'll waste all this time taking prereqs only to not get in. :/
Thanks so much everyone!
Anyone? Or did I post this in the wrong section?

You might want to post this in the CA nursing section. Chances are that not many Chabot students will come across your post.
I am at CCSF, and am aware of Chabot, but did not apply to Chabot. But I believe your concern that you may not get in is correct. Always have a backup plan, and apply to more than one school.
I believe it is possible with 3 kids. However, only you can determine this. Every person is different, and every child is different. There are also just too many variables.
Good luck!

I believe that if you live East of Castro Valley, they have about 10 students they pick to work in the Livermore/ValleyCare area. Just FYI. But I think you may get better feedback if you post in the CA Nursing forum.
I am attending Las Positas at this time for pre-req's. I would just do your pre-req's and speak to a counselor about how the program at Chabot works. You can also attend CSUEB in Hayward and get your BSN, which considering where you are would be the same distance as Chabot.
Thanks for the info. Another thing I'm finding is that all the programs have slightly different pre-reqs. Ugh.
I meant Chabot/ValleyCare, not Las Positas.
I am now doing pre reqs for my AA. More general stuff like psychology, English, etc. Haven't started the sciences yet. Anyway, my original questions still stand. So if anyone has insight I'd appreciate it. :)
Another question: does anyone know if they accept online science prereqs w/lab?
