Question for Career Changers

Published

I've noticed a LOT of people choosing nursing as a second career- I'm curious- what was your previous career? :D

Since a child I was attracted to medical shows (i.e., Marcus Welby M.D., Medical Center, etc), but really never thot of becoming a nurse. It wasn't until 2002 I sensed the need to change my career from mental health to medicine. I have been a patient of ICU on several occasions. And, recently I stood over the bedside of my older sister (who suffered from Lupus) in MS/ICU, but later lost her battle. I recall one day while leaning over her bedside in ER (prior to her ICU admission) telling her "..... one day I'm going to become a nurse, so I can take care of you..."

Well, I the Lord knew He could take better care of her than I ever could.....
