Someone told me ASN get paid $34 an hour in Nursing homes. I told them no way! Is this true? I thought it was like $19 an hour or something.

32 an hour base pay first shift. After three is 3 dollars more an hour. And that doesn't include my charge nurse 1.50 an hr diff.

Wow!!!

There are jobs in ltc but everybody wants a hospital job. I started in ltc, went to acute care and went back to ltc. Best decision I have ever made, no regrets. I'm a proud and happy long term care nurse!

You know I feel like the hospital is not everything it's cracked up to be. I was thinking abt working both places when I graduate.

Anybody have an idea on the pay at Select speciality hospital for RN or CNA's?

I don't think RNs make less

Than 24 anywhere these days! 19 hr is really low, even just starting out. 😳

$19 sounds low for an RN in Indiana. Every job I have seen posted usually starts around $25 or so. I thought 19 is around what a LPN makes.

I worked in one as an aide, and can die happy never working in a hospital again. My favorite saying about it is, "Been there, done that, burned the t-shirt!"
