Hi there everyone
I was wondering if anybody could help out with a query... I'm interested in doing a masters degree at my local uni, full time which means i would have to leave nursing for a while... i would only be leaving for about 6-7 months... what i would like to know , is would i be able to easily get a nursing job after this time? would i have to do some sort of return to practice course??

highly doubt that you will have to do a return to practice course but have you thought about taking unpaid leave of absence so you will still have a job to go back to and also whilst you look for another job after the course

Even better still, perhaps negotiate working a shift or two a week - then you have cash coming in, and keep your job - but just make sure you get any agreement in writing - just for your own protection.

Hi,
How about asking if out can take a career break, thats what I did and they okayed me. You have to give 3 months notice of intent and fill out paperwork now, your manager and HR have to agree. Of course I may have just slipped in.
Good luck worth a try in todays climate
