Anyone doing HEDIS???

Is anyone out there besides me doing HEDIS this year? Last year I was assigned 800+ charts to audit. For probably 400 of those, 3 of us went to the "desert" area to do them. This year I have 1274 to do by myself and possibly 6 or 7 hospitals yet to come. Think I'll just have my breakdown first this year:roll

:banghead: DARN...I didn't know that :uhoh21::madface: I guess I better start looking, too.

As I said, I don't think I'll be able to find anything out here in the middle of nowhere:no::bluecry1:

I'll keep you in mind if something comes up:typing

Are you doing any remote abstraction? Last year I reviewed charts at home from a secure server--very efficient --- I was able to review over 2400 charts with an IRR of 99.8.

To Flexnurse - HEDIS is a healthcare quality study that looks at access to health care and health care delivery. The focus is on preventive health issues - immunizations, prenatal care, HTN control - to name a few. Medicare, medicaid, and general/group health plans all participate in this study annually. Briefly - field staff visit physician offices and abstract information from pt records specific to a measure under study (eg:prenatal care visits). The method of conducting the data collection and your time commitment varies by the employer -we work with FT and PT and are flexible with hours, schedules, etc. Our staff sets up their own appointments so that part of the job is from home. The visit to office sites require local travel (w/in 30 miles or so). If interested I can talk more about this in person.

To dec12 and wareagle31: we're not working with remote review at this point, have done so in the past tho. Will keep you in mind if the option comes up.

Thanks!

I received a call from Outcomes to work on a HEDIS project, what co. did you work for that let you work remotely?

It's a new year and lots of HEDIS jobs available - particulary in PA, MD, DE.

Let me know if you'd like some info on locations and how this project works.

I'm in MD. I'm willing to travel. Please PM me. Thanks.

I just saw an add for HEDIS in my area and was thinking of going for it. I haven't been doing any nursing at all for about 3 years though. Is that going to be a problem or is it pretty easy. I love paper work, cut and dry, fill in the blank type of jobs. Is that what this is? The pay seems good for the one here and they said it would only be part time-like 3 days/wk. Let me know what kind of stuff you look for in a chart. tia!

The company I worked for is no longer in existence which is a bummer. I am in the process of finding a different company who offers the same opportunity. It is a very efficient way to work.
