  3. First of all ...CONGRATS to everyone in the program! I wish you all the best! I live here in Newnan and I graduated the Nursing program from West Georgia in 1990! Good luck to everyone!
  4. Thanks for the reply...I'm an RN...19 yrs now! I am just looking into doing the online thing...Was curious if anyone has had any issues! Thanks for the advice!
  5. Are any of you having any problems with states accepting the online programs? I am looking at the RN-BSN program with Chamberlain...and I am a bit concerned that Georgia will not recognize the program... ??? Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!
  6. These cases can be very serious....I had a new transport arrive at my facility with a very severe case. He had been "dared" to do 500 sits up the night before. No nurse saw him the morning of transport. By the time he arrived here, I had to send him to the ER. He was admitted and ended up on dialysis due to acute kidney failure....so if in doubt...at least check a urine and see what that shows!
  7. That is what I am looking for also. PLease let me know if you find anything like this! Thanks in advance!!
  8. Anyone know of any companies in the Atlanta area that does HEDIS work from home? Thanks in advance!!
  9. I LOVE to do audits and would really enjoy getting into this! Any suggestions for us that want to get information on how to became "trained" so that we might be ready to start when the ads start appearing.....THANKS!!!
  10. I'm a female RN and have worked in a mens' county correctional facility over 5 years now and I love it. Like many here have already stated, it is never boring and it is always challenging to all your nursing skills. The one thing I hate is the look on other nurses' faces when you say you work in a prison. They almost look down on you like you must not be a very good nurse to work there....to me it is the complete opposite! It takes a special person to deal with all the issues you see in this setting.
  11. Welcome to all the new Georgia nurse members!!
  12. I work in a county facility and I am a county employee. I am the only nurse and I am an RN. I do not operate this way! I had to chuckle when you said "one odd thing stood out"...there are WAY more than just ONE ...LOL! Actually kinda scary!
  13. Congrats!! I've been doing Correctional Nursing for 5 years now and I love it. Never boring....that is for sure!! Good luck with the new job!
  14. I have to agree to look elsewhere. That hospital just finished a merger and they have laid off staff. They are planning to build a new hospital by 2010, so it might be an option down the road.....Good Luck!
  15. Good luck with the interview! I have worked in a mens prison for almost 5 years now and I love it.
