To Flexnurse - HEDIS is a healthcare quality study that looks at access to health care and health care delivery. The focus is on preventive health issues - immunizations, prenatal care, HTN control - to name a few. Medicare, medicaid, and general/group health plans all participate in this study annually. Briefly - field staff visit physician offices and abstract information from pt records specific to a measure under study (eg:prenatal care visits). The method of conducting the data collection and your time commitment varies by the employer -we work with FT and PT and are flexible with hours, schedules, etc. Our staff sets up their own appointments so that part of the job is from home. The visit to office sites require local travel (w/in 30 miles or so). If interested I can talk more about this in person. Hi, I'm new to this site and the whole blog thing. I'm in the Philadelphia area and just finished the HEDIS project. I loved the company I worked with, the project was really well organized and my project manager was always available if I had questions. Kind of disappointed it's over!! Will definitely do this again next year. Looks like some of you have had trouble with companies you've worked for on this project. Good info to have for future reference. A friend of mine is working on a medicaid plan in Philly and the project is a mess - they're still doing the data collection. Her company is located in Wayne, Pa. I'm learning who to stay away from!!! Anyone in the Philadelphia area know of any record review or abstract projects that are coming up??? I see MedAssurant has multiple ads on Craigs list - makes me nervous that they advertise the same positions every week for months on end. Anyone ever work for MedAssurant?
