Pvt trick

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hello everyone! I jut wanted some opinions on the pvt trick and how it's properly done, I took my NCLEX-pn exactly 9 days ago today my exam stopped at 162! I left feeling like a straight failure. I was told my some classmates about a pvt trick but I had been too scared to try the pvt trick. So after a few hours of debating whether or not to do it, the curiousity was killing me so I went on and tried the pvt trick but I entered the wrong cvc code and got the "bad pop up" it said my card was declined due to the wrong cvc code is that still the "bad pop up"? I'm also in California so unfortunately it takes about 4-6 weeks to receive a result confirmation letter but the stress of finding out if I passed or not is killing me I would really want to k ow so I could either retake it ASAP or start orientation at work as well and be at peace with the results. Help please!!!

Just wanted to give an update that PVT works and just to help those people how are studying for NCLEX or waiting for results!! Did my NCLEX in NY in April 2018, did PVT 6 hours after - good pop up. I got my license number on state website 2 business day after I took it!!! Idk what happened and how i got it so fast😱 But those 48 hours was hell as I was sure I failed... I came out of the test center totally crushed and empty headed. I did UWorld twice, in both assessments after got a very high chance. Was very confident going in and then when questions didn't stop coming after 75, I literally started to doubt myself... when it was past 100 questions, i got devastated 😞 literally questions were coming from every where🤦🏼*♀️, got 2 questions on biological weapons lol, bunch of home health care, not a single med math, at least 50 SATA... I remember one pharm question, all 4 meds in the answer options were not familiar to me!! The endings were not helpful as well.My ECGs were also far more difficult then UWorld. My advice to anyone taking soon: please make sure you never rely on one source for rationales, review the weak spots. And if the questions keep coming, don't panic, don't give up, it is very hard mentally yes but I think the exam is made this way to challenge you🙂 I am glad it's over, still cannot believe ! Good luck to everyone 🙌

So I just got off the phone with the board of nursing ... I called them because it's been 3 weeks and still no letter, so she said they mailed my letter yehsterday Finally!!!! & since I got a bad pvt pop up I asked her about an error message I received on breeze when I tried to re register to retake the exam and she said "no, no don't do that, that can mess things up , just wait for your letter... don't do that wait for your letter" so I'm so confused now ....

Got the bad pop up tonight after taking the exam at 8:00am this morning 4/18/18. Totally devastated because I am an over achiever in ways. I did everything my school instructed. I passed 3 ATI predictors (including doing VATI) and was told by ATI I had a 97% chance of passing, I used RN Mastery answered and remediate on all 1900 questions of the app and I did about 1500+ questions on ATI and read the Kaplan book ....so I'm just really totally confused at how it was so hard and the strategies could not be used on most of the questions.

@brightfutureRN Did your credit card get declined or did it accept your payment of $200?

It didn't decline it just asked me to confirm I was making the payment and I didn't because I'm not ready to pay again.

The good news is that you did not get the bad pop up. From my understanding, you have not completed the PVT trick all the way through. You have to submit again in order to find out if you get the good pop up or bad pop up.

Thank you for that! I got a lot of questions wrong. I counted at least 15 I know for sure I have wrong by coming home and reviewing. So I'll just wait until Friday to see what it says, I won't even go on any more of an emotional rollercoaster playing with that.

My test anxiety was abnormally high once I saw more and more questions that I could not be sure of and then after the test I got pulled over by the police and he just let me go I guess he saw something in my demeanor that said drained, sad and defeated.

Hi Lexilove,

Do not give up, I am not sure what resources you used to study. However, you should start self reflecting and to ask yourself what you need to do to past the next test.

Hi brightfuture: You have not done all the steps in the PVT. If you are not ready to pay again (if you truly failed) then you can change your expiration date. That way it won't charge your card.

I have a feeling that you passed

Best of luck!!

Thank you. I'm praying a lot. Never felt this bad about a test.

May I ask how many questions did you have before it shut off?
