Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

So I took the NCLEX RN exam today at 1pm well I got there early so they let me start at about 12:30. The test was easy and hard at the same time. Easy in a way because its stuff I learned in nursing school and information I went over using the Hurst Review HOWEVER it was tricky because when I came down to my final two answers that's when it got hard. After 2.5hrs my computer shut off at about 110 question I stopped looking at the number count after 100 but I know I didn't go past 120. I felt horrible, my hands were still shaking even after I walked out of the testing center.

Well I got to my car and drove to my bf mothers house since she lived down the street from the testing center and checked Pearson Vue and got this "our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Please contact your Member Board for further assistance. Another registration cannot be made at this time".

Does this mean I passed?

Hi Jen_Jen88 It's santurce Ave Ponce de Leon :) thank you and congratulations again :)

Congratulations...So i have been doing research on here about UMET and on most of the discussions I have seen you Jen. Ive followed your story and caught up as much as i could in the past hour or so, lol...But you have given me a lot of inspiration. Now that you are finished with school in Puerto Rico, have you moved or are you deciding to stay on the island? What was your experience like finding housing? And did you complete a four year or two year bsn? Do you participate in clinicals outside of the campus? Lastly, what was tuition and your book/materials cost? I have recently applied for the BSN program, i have all of my prereqs completed but chose to wait another year to fully prepare myself for the move. I know im a stranger asking a bit much, but i appreciate any feedback, information and/or advice you have to offer.

Peace

Hello NursePearl14! Since I graduated I moved back to FL right after graduation. I completed 2 yrs in UMET but I also took some classes in Spanish but that was just something I wanted to do to get out faster if not you'll be there like an extra semester. We did clinicals at first at the VA, its federal and most of the nurses know English but after you finish med surg and start going into peds and maternity their done in the private hospitals which is ALL Spanish. However you'll have classmates that will gladly help you when needed. As for housing I stayed with family and bought a car a lot of the students either went on classificados Puerto Rico or they walked around the near neighborhood and looked for places that were for rent. Tuition for me was probably about 23,000 because I took out extra money for living expenses like gas money and food. Books ehhhh maybe 1,000 ish I think not sure.

Good luck!!!! Let me know if this helped and if you have any questions feel free to ask

Hello Jen! Congrats..I am also using hurst review..what were your scores on the q reviews?..thanks for sharing

I need to go back to see but they ranged from 80-102

Hi, I will be starting hurst live review. Are you doing it live? Do you think its helpful?

I did it live and I loved it because you can ask questions and get a better explanation if you need it. Plus it's fun interacting with other students. With the live class you get 15-30 depends days of the online reviews so in case you missed something you can go back unlimited times for those days. I listen to the audios twice each then read the book cover to cover and sat in a mirror or a friend and pretended to teach that topic.

This is great info. I believe I only get 14 days. Also do the talk to myself thing lol. Is hurst all you used?

As content yes but for questions I used lippincott, lacharity pda and ati mobile app. I would do about 150 questions a day. I also did the kaplan book question

Thanks. I'm going to do the same. I have the pda book and lipincott also. I am.making a study plan and sticking to it. Were your scores onthe hurst questions high? I feel like hurst content is breaking it down straight to the point. I was going to use the Saunders as my content but this breaks it down to less than half of that book. I will use it for questions and a reference.

To be honest I hated suanders format. I only used it for the alternative style questions. As i kept studying my scores went higher up to the last test i got a 102/125 and lippincott my scores were in the 70s or higher
