I’m an RN with 12 years of experience. In January, I had my second child and have not returned to work. I know that putting your license into an “inactive” status is an option, but I have never heard it being an easy process to get it ‘activated’ again. I would like to stay home with my children for a few years. Has anyone ever gone through this process? Can you help shed some light on it? I am licensed in NH.
The fees aren’t the issue - the fact that I’m not meeting the minimum hours required to renew is. I’m considering just working rarely... but without childcare, it’s rough.
Specializes in ICU/community health/school nursing.
I know five or six nurses in Texas who never use their licenses (all have other careers) but they keep up the 20 hours of CEUs. Just in case. You worked so hard for this.
