Pure Wick

Does anyone use the Pure Wick system at their facility? We are about to start using it. I'm intrigued but am wondering how well it really works in practice. For those wondering, it's a female incontinence wicking system that you attach to wall suction, like an external catheter for a female. You can use the collected urine for a UA as well.

I work in the ED and we love these! Great for the black out drunks to the grannies with hip fractures. I haven't seen an issue with them being hard to keep in place and we always place a chux underneath in case there is some leakage. I wouldn't use them with someone who was really restless/squirmy though.

Your mother is fortunate to have your interest and concern in her well-being. :)

However, it would be best to ask the vendor/manufacturer for instruction (perhaps the vendor can recommend a resource for you to ask), or do an online search for product reviews.

Unfortunately, asking such advice here violates the Terms of Service.

I wish you well in your endeavor to give the best environment possible for your mother.

Closing this now.
