There's a pumpkin festival in Bradford, OH too. I think it's coming up either this weekend or next weekend. I don't think I'll be going though since I've got a saturday class that runs from 8-4:30. I'm usually too pooped to go out. ;)

There is an annual Apple Butter Festival in Grand Rapids, OH, every October.

I love the apple butter festival!!!!!!!!!I have family in Grand Rapids! It always amazes me how bad it sometimes floods there in the spring from the winter thaw of the river. Have you ever seen the flood markings in the downtown area?

renerian, I've never seen the flood markings in town. I love the quaint shops and the Apple Butter Festival in October.

Your post took me back over thirty years to a beautiful sunny midwest afternoon spent at the CIRCLEVILLE pumpkin festival as a college student. Thanks for the memory!

I am glad I helped you remember this chaya. Did you live in CV?

Kue the flood markings are on some of the buildings and are marked with years and dates. Some are very high up.......with the river there and it being flat it floods so easily.

I used to live in Maumee by Side Cut Park and it always flooded on the south side of the road during spring thaw. Amazing to see those huge chunks of ice.

I'm going to check out those flood markings next time I'm there. The river did get very high this year too but not as high as other years I've heard. We have a summer spot right along the river bank on Rt 65.

Kue I have gone by a couple places along 65 and it is a nice stretch to be on. Lovely. Check out the markings and you will be surprised. I think most of them are on a building on the right side of the street about half way down into the downtown as you enter the downtown area. There is an art gallery on that side of the street, if it is still there, that has lovely paintings. I have bought several there.

We have a rather large big older trailer right on the River bank , it's not a fancy place but it's nice to have a place to "get away" sometimes. My husbands relation all have places down there so it's a family affair:)

The trees on Rt 65 are usually beautiful in the fall as you probably know;)
