Hello all,
I am trying to decide what kind of NP to become and have been thinking about PMHNP. I was wondering if anyone has input on what schools to apply to and what ones to stay away from? I have worked as a RN for 2 years now and will finish a RN-BSN program next month with around a 3.2 GPA. My GPA is okay but I am worried I will not get in anywhere. I worked in the county jail for my first job and loved the psych part of it. Any other information or personal experiences on this topic would be appreciated, thank you!
Hello Everyone
I am considering entering a PMHNP program. I have already been accepted to EKU but it seems it could take upward of 3 years and I am thinking I would like to finish the program sooner. I plan on applying to Vanderbilt but I have read threads that have reported negatively on how Vandy handled clinical placement for distance learners. Has anyone went to either EKU or Vandy? Is there anyone in the Boston area that would recommend another program.
Thank You

Your GPA is probably fine if you have good references and work experience. I am trying to decide on whether to go the MSN or DNP route. I live in the west Chicago burbs and I'd love to go to Rush but they only have a DNP and I really feel that if I go that route, I might as well just go to med school to be a psychiatrist and at least make enough money to pay back my loans!
