I am an MFT looking to go back get a BSN/MSN to become a psych np. Does anyone know if there are any programs that are BSN TO DNP in psych mental health nursing or if there were any combined bsn/msn programs in psych mental health nursing? Also, if I got a certificate in psych mental health nursing as opposed to a degree would it be regarded?
Also, are there any others who had a psych degree who took the nursing to psych np path? How do you find it now? If you have any advice it would be highly appreciated?

Search for fast track, "all inclusive" NP programs such as those offered at Vanderbilt. You have to come in with a bachelor's degree, take coursework related to becoming a RN while in the master's program, and then take coursework toward the NP role of your choice. I can't recall if they have a psych-specific program, but I remember other options being present so maybe you'll find your fit.

I know that OHSU has something like that... It's not direct BSN to DPN but it is a streamlined program from BSN through MSN to DPN and Psychiatric is one of the tracks offered for the streamlined program. The BSN has an accelerated option if you already hold a bachelors in a non-nursing field. I think there is also a RN to BSN option... but it has been a while since I looked at their website.

Yes there are several if you google psych np bsn-doctorate/PhD. I saw several then looking for a psych masters program. I don't think being certified in psych does anything for you besides looking good on an application or resume.

I'm starting that track at OHSU this summer. It's a one year accelerated program for your BSN with direct entry into the PMHNP program and an option to keep going for your Doctorate.
My background is in social work so it's a somewhat similar switch. :) I chose this because of the wholesome approach to mental health... It seems silly not to consider the whole body right?? :)
Good luck!

Is it online or campus based?
Campus based. I think you'd be hard pressed to find it online.
