Psy NP program in Wilkes university

Updated:   Published

Hi I am applying for Wilkes university psy NP Program (RN to MSN) onlinefor Spring 2015. I haven't heard anything about this school. Anyone out there knows about this school?

Specializes in RN; PMHNP student.

Psychbeast,

I just finished my first semester in the PMHNP program. Just wanted to touch base with you to find out any good resources, tips, or anything else that would be beneficial as I make my way through. Thanks in advance for any advice/assistance you can give. I've enjoyed reading what you have posted in this thread so far. Look forward to hearing what you have to say.

Stay on top of everything, because it can overwhelming if you fall behind. Most of the teachers are good. I had no problem with any of them and for tests they give study guides which is very helpful.

Psychbeast are you interested in selling your old pdf's?

Also were there any unforeseen costs for you? I've been told a few different figures. BSN to pmhnp track

Did Wilkes U provide clinical sites?

I dont know about now but when I was there, they provided us with some clinical sites to call, clinical sites student had used before.

Thats interesting! I am located in Philadelphia and I know Wilkes is far up north, so they might not have sites to recommend in my area. It's really hard to find preceptors in Philly since there's so many schools & NP students here.

You can call and ask them about it. They do have alot of clinical site though.

I'm starting the PMHNP program this Spring 2018. How's it going for you so far? I was also nervous about this program due to the lack of reviews because it's so new. However, it's cheap and not far from where I live, and seems like the most sensible option. Thanks!

I got accepted. please any info

I just applied to start in January 2021. Hopefully I get in. My coworker will be graduating in December and liked the pmhnp program. She held her full time work without issues.

Specializes in ER, Cardiac ICU, Pre-op/PACU.

I also recently applied for the Jan 2021 start date for PMHNP! My friend just started the FNP program this past August and so far, she too said it's manageable. I know much time hasn't passed but she's working f/t, has 2 children under 3 yrs old and married. So I'd say it's definitely doable LOL. But good luck to everyone! Fingers crossed!

This is encouraging to hear your coworkers comments. I am looking at Wilkes and a couple of others schools for Jan 2021.  It seems like each school has its pro/cons.  I will say that the tuition at Wilkes seems reasonable compared to other schools.

Yes it is encouraging to hear! I'm currently waiting to hear back from them. Have you heard any good things about EKU?
