In Ontario, PSW's get a credit for the first Semester for the bridging program. They are put into second semester I do believe. I know Sir Sandford Fleming College does the PSW to RPN briding program, but they are in Peterborough - a fair ways away from Niagara Region
Do you have a link or a number I could call for more info for the Fleming bridge program? TIA.

Google is your friend
Tried before I asked and couldn't find it...thanks for the tip though. If you found something if/when you Googled maybe you'd be kind enough to share?

Peterborough has one of the highest average ages in Canada, so there are plenty of LTC centers here.

RPN is 2 years, not 2.5 fyi
Which schools allow that?
I know there's essentially a "bridging" program ONLY offered at George Brown, but in reality it's just an extra year of RPN (so the bridge + RPN takes 3 years)
There's no school in Ontario that puts PSW's into semester 2 of RPN. It's impossible. RPN's learn Biology, anatomy, theory, professional conduct in semester 1 that PSW's don't learn throughout their whole program, so how can you throw a PSW straight into semester 2, skipping all of that?
There's no such thing. PSW's have to apply and start from the beginning just like anyone else.
My RPN was 2.5.

I believe I answered your question already. I also said "I believe" thats what it is, because i went straight to RPN, i didnt bridge. They didnt have the bridging back then.
Maybe before condeming something you should do the research and find out the truth. I was simply trying to pass on the information that some one was asking for, because this bridging program is so new.
FYI - my program was 2.5 years as well.

There is now a bridge for PSW to PN offered at Conestoga College. For the first 3 semester the course will be teach once a week and then full time starting semester 4. The course also offered off site and they are planning to teach the course somewhere in Peel Region, but in order to make this thing happen they have to find at least 30 qualified students. It will take 3.5 to 4 years to finish the course. You can contact the College for more informations. You will need to send them your PSW certificate, updated resume and high school transcipt for evaluation.
Why would anyone do 3.5-4 years for a program that takes 2 years? Just because it's once a week for 3 semesters? Not worth it IMHO.
My RPN program took almost 4 years(2 nights/week for 5 semesters).I was a single mom with 2 little ones and I needed to keep working.I worked 7 days a week and went to school 6-1015 twice a week with only 1 week off at Christmas and no summer break.
