Providence TIP September 2023

Updated:   Published

Hello everyone!

I wanted to create a forum for those applying to Providence TIP program for the September 2023 cohort. I know the application opens soon, so I wanted to create this forum so we can discuss the application process, interviews, etc.

?

@P3G yeah I thought I did OK and felt like the interviewers were really friendly. Not sure if that means anything tho haha

Yes the interviewers did seem pretty friendly which I'm thankful for. What were your top 3 units?

@P3G I wonder if we got the same panel? I had a younger gentleman in black scrubs and 2 women interviewing me and they were mostly all med surg/ortho/ onc

I picked PCU, ER, med surg wbu? Do you happen to know how many interview slots there were TOTAL? I counted and it looks like they only have 14 positions open

ER, CVU, telemetry/DOU. I think they mentioned there were close to 60 applicants; not sure if that's what you're asking.

And no I think we got different panels. I had 4 women interviewing me.

@P3G When I scheduled my interview there were only 3 time slots left so I wasn't able to see how many interview time slots they offered but I don't think they would extend 60 interviews for only 14 spots right?

I kind of saw the lady giving me my points as she wrote them down since I was sitting so close to her and she was giving me a bunch of 3's and 3.5's ughhh IDK if its out of 5 or what ?

I really don't know how they schedule/assign interview slots to applicants, the process is a mystery to me LOL. But I do know that when I went to my interview, there were a couple other applicants who had the same time slot as me and they went with other panels. So they're able to hold multiple interviews at the same time slot, if that makes sense.

Hmmm that's interesting. Could also be out of 4 though. I wouldn't stress too much about it if I were you, without a scale or reference point those numbers are pretty much useless to us, know what I mean?

They also said they're more so trying to see if our personalities and goals align with Providence.

The points, for all we know, are just to give us priority when they're assigning us to our preferred units. So maybe people with the least amount of points get hired but they get hired to their #3 choice, ya know?

@P3G @hotnursestuff Hopefully we find out soon! * fingers crossed for us all*

Do you guys know if your status on ModernHire changes to RN 1 if they are going to offer us a position?

I feel like I read something like that somewhere

@hotnursestuff where would we look that up? I hadn't heard of that
