Providence RN Residency Program - Feb 2025 Cohort

Applications for external candidates open 12/18/24!

My application says under consideration. The only thing I know that could hinder me is that I didn't do a cover letter for them. I'm at a point though where it's like either you like my resume, certs and knowing I already have my license while meeting the requirements or you don't LOL

I applied for Torrance , San Pedro and Santa Monica.

Did the text screening on Wednesday , didn't receive anything to schedule interview

LOL! I did a cover letter for each hospital I applied to and have not received an interview invite so I don't think that would disqualify you. I truly believe its choosing applicants at random and probably based on their resume being ATS friendly because I saw some people on here say they got an interview invite but they submitted their application later than I submitted mine. So doesnt sound like it's completely "first come first serve". More like those who the ATS system deem as qualified for the position will get pulled on a first come first serve basis. So don't best yourself up about anything. 😇 apply to smaller hospitals. I got an interview for a smaller hospital a day after submitting my application. The hiring manager texted me and emailed me. No automated systems LOL The bigger hospitals are kind of a lottery system at this point.

Oh sorry! ATS stands for applicant tracking system. It's basically an automated system that filters the applicants so the company doesn't have to do it manually. It recommends the top candidates to the company. So basically it does the leg work in weeding out those that aren't qualified for a position. But it's not the best because if your resume is formatted in a way that the ATS can't read then it could disqualify you. 😕 An ATS friendly resume is one that's formatted to be easily scanned and understood by ATS.
