Hey guys! I'm starting this thread for Providence's RN Residency Program - September 2024 Cohort. Hopefully we can update each other on application processes, interviews, and job offers!
Applications open up on July 3! Good luck to all of us (-:
I had my interview at Providence St. Joseph in Burbank earlier today! I think it went well (-': They asked me what my top 3 units were, and I said 1. ICU, 2. Neuro Telemetry, and 3. Cardiac Telemetry. Then they asked if I was also open to any other unit just in case, and I said yes.
Does anyone know if today is the last day for interviews?

YAY! Hopefully we'll get to work together (-':
I made sure to study their mission and core values, and spoke about my background working as a server and now currently working at a hospital as a nurse extern. They gave me a sepsis case study question, but I'm a little worried because I forgot to talk about adding an order for antipyretics since the patient had a fever. I still acknowledged it though when assessing the patient )))-: . But all in all the hiring managers were so nice.
How was your interview!!

I think we got the same case study. I mentioned the fever but I didn't say sepsis, I said shock due to the bp and pulse. Loooool. I knew I messed up that case study. I thought it was good. I'm hoping for the best.

I can relate to your experience. During my interview, I faced a similar situation where I had to choose between departments, but instead of neuro, my case study was focused on sepsis. Interestingly, two of my interviewers specialized in sepsis nursing, which made me quite nervous about providing the right answers. It was a challenging but valuable experience, allowing me to showcase my knowledge and adaptability under pressure.

Yes! I feel like as long as we said the main key points as well, and acknowledged the change in the patients status, we should still be good. Luckily I was studying up on Sepsis already, so I was happy that my case study question was on that topic.
What units did you pick as your top 3?

1. ICU. 2. Cardiac Tele 3. Sepsis Tele. I'm hoping to land my top choice in the ICU department. It looks promising since they have 5-night shift positions available. Fingers crossed for a positive outcome for all of us!

Hello, I applied to St Joseph's in orange. Has anyone heard back for an interview if so how soon after? Also did they mention the new grad pay?
