Hey guys! I'm starting this thread for Providence's RN Residency Program - September 2024 Cohort. Hopefully we can update each other on application processes, interviews, and job offers!
Applications open up on July 3! Good luck to all of us (-:

Thanks
Hi! I'm not sure if the format or process will stay the same since I've heard they might be making some changes. However, when I went through it, it was a 4-person panel interview. They asked me to list my top 3 unit choices and explain why I wanted to work there. They also asked questions that you must relate to your clinical experience, prioritization, and gave a case study where I had about 5 minutes to assess the situation and either figure out what was going on with the patient or provide an SBAR.
good luck!!

Do you know when they open for the February cohort?
Hi all.
I know you are all busy working now but I had a question regarding spots filled vs experience. I was lucky to get a Tarzana interview and based off these forums I know they ask for your top three choices. My first instinct is to go for ER, ICU, and L/D which are all super competitive. This is my first interview out of dozens of rejections so I really do not want to mess it up reaching "too far". For example, I had my preceptorship in the ED so that would be my #1, but I also love critical care. Is it crazy if I list ICU in my top 3 without a preceptorship or work experience there? I want to make a thoughtful decision and I am wondering if putting progressive care/ step down and tele as my other choices is the right call even if its not what my heart wants. I know I can grow there and great learning ground.
If you work at tarzana in tele, could you mention the different units?
If you read this, I appreciate you. TIA

I say just go for the units you want. Don't let the competitiveness stop you. Lets say the interviewers think you're not fit for whatever you put in your top 3 (knock on wood), they'll still offer you a spot somewhere else if they still think you're a strong candidate.

Thank you so much. I needed this!! I appreciate the support and honest feedback!

Does anyone know when the next application will be posted for St. Joseph's Orange or St. Jude Fullerton location?
