Surgical/Trauma
Hi Rose, thank you so much for your response! I am interested in obtaining a position in the OR but can't seem to without OR experience. I have been a nurse for 5 years and have worked with post-acute population. Would obtaining a position in surgical/trauma be a good way to get my foot in the door? Based on your experience, which area would be the best route? I'm also considering endoscopy as a possible way to get my foot in the door.

Med Math
I need help setting this up as a dimensional analysis problem. I was able to figure out that the first bag will finish infusing in 8 hour by simply dividing 1000 by 125 meaning that the next bag should be hung at 1600. Any help is appreciated!! An IV is ordered at 125 mL/hr for 1 liter, then reduced to 80 mL/hr. The first IV bag is hung at 0800. What time do you anticipate hanging the second liter?+ Thanks in advance!! :)

I think I was finally able to figure it out....... rate = 18L per hr. /ml available = 500mL x dose of 400mg =14.4mg per hour 14.4mg/60min x 1000/65.91 kg = 3.6mcg/kg/min

Help on figuring this out, I'm not sure how to set the problem up using dimensional analysis. Your client is receiving dopamine 400mg in 500ml D5W running at 18ml/hour through an IV pump. The client's weight is 145 pounds. How many micrograms/kg/minute is the patient receiving? Thanks in advance!!! :)
