Hello! Has anyone who applied to Providence when applications opened up on June 6th heard back yet regarding setting up an interview? I was told the process is different from last year. They said they would reach out for setting up interviews starting June 12th.
That's a little shocking still. I didn't think it would be that low. I got an offer at another basic hospital, SCH Hollywood and they do the same breakdown for the pay but their base pay is 43ish so the blended rate is $50. I just believed that Providence could have a better residency program so I wanted to do that one. One of my instructors said she also did her residency at Providence and she liked it.
Hi guys! I got an email about them preparing my offer for Burbank/Saint Joseph and I know this is early but I am most likely am going to need to relocate to around that area so I was wondering if there was anybody who was looking for roomies too so if anybody else gets an offer in that general area I would love to chat (Tarzana/Burbank/Santa Monica)

I had an interview with them last week. I asked when we should expect to hear from them. They said they were wrapping up interviews on Thursday and should have final decisions by this week. I haven't heard anything anymore, but since it's the 4th of July, maybe next week.
Mrs.NewGradRN said:I have an update from the recruiter... They use a "Base Pay Structure (Blended Rate)"
The base hourly wage for the first 8 hours of a 12-hour shift is $38.57. For the last 4 hours, you get an additional 50% of $38.57, which is $19.29 extra, making those hours paid at $57.86 per hour. Which averages out to $45/hr.... Odd set up but glad I asked.
The blended rate is mostly used by hospitals with 12-hour shift models to balance pay across the full shift while staying compliant with California labor laws...So, for a 12-hour shift:
First 8 hours = regular pay
Last 4 hours = overtime pay (1.5x)
To keep pay consistent across departments:
Rather than advertise a $38.57 base and talk about OT separately, they present the blended average of $45/hour to align with other units and maintain transparency across RN Residency positions.
If you work only 8 hours, you will only earn $38.57/hour, because:
You didn't exceed 8 hours, so no overtime pay applies. The blended rate only averages to $45/hour when you complete the full 12-hour shift.
Not all the hospitals pay like this I think, my hospital just pays 50.7 base pay throughout the 12 hour shift, at least that is what it says on my payslips, even when I did education for 8 hours I got paid 50.7 per hour, so maybe its different per hospital. Or I could be reading this wrong and not understand anything and could be wrong.

yeah thats common for some hospitals. It is interesting how all the providence locations work differently from pay rates, to scheduling to hiring and everything. I would be curious to know how raises work yearly
