Providence New Grad 2024 Cohort

Nurses Job Hunt

Updated:   Published

I just wanted to create a forum for those applying to Providence TIP RN Residency  program for new grads applying to the 2024cohort. I know the application opens soon, so I wanted to create this forum so we can discuss the application process, interviews, and more!! ☺️

It said in the interview and job description that no pto will be approved during the residency. You'll need to reschedule your trip for when you're off orientation.

Oh OK, thank you for answering my question. I think I read something about  getting one weekend on and then next weekend off alternating schedule

is your schedule set up in that way ?

No it's every week for 12 weeks with both classroom and either 1, 2 or 3 precepted 12 hour shifts each week, depending on how how much classroom / healthstream / Ecco's are due that week.

edit:

sorry I misread your comment, I am not sure about the weekend requirement. I assume some of the precepted shifts will be weekends.

Royal blue for mission Viejo

It says the whole 12 week schedule but it doesn't show when the precepted shifts are throughout the weeks, so I only know the classroom/module portion so far.

I'm going to be at MV, did you reach out to the manager and ask for the schedule or did they just send it to you? I got an email from Genevieve a while ago with the first week orientation breakdown but it says to wait for the manager to contact us about the time after that

The ICU manager sent the schedule after Genevieve. Which unit are you going to be on? You could email the manager from the list she emailed us.

Oncology, yeah I'll email her. Did you see anything about dress code besides royal blue scrubs? I freeze so was looking at long sleeve undershirts and jackets haha. If not I'll just email her that too

Most of the managers I talked to said it was 6 weekend shifts in a 6 week period, so every other weekend or every Saturday or some mix of that. Not sure how much control we'll have after the initial 24ish precepted shifts

No they all start 2/26, I think.

Hello ,

I have a question did any of you guys have to do ACLS training before start date of 02/26 or can you do it after your 1st day.

I believe on Evercheck Wallet there's an option to select that you'll obtain the cert within 180 days of hire?

Hi there,

What is everyone wearing for their first day of orientation? The email says business casual or scrubs, just want to know what you guys will wear ?

Scrubs! I don't want to stress about the right outfit. Hopefully everyone feels the same way haha. I know we'll be mixed with all types of Providence employees though so might stand out a little
