  1. How do you handle cheaters?

I guess we'll just have to disagree to disagree on that one. Your perspective feels far to much like situational ethics to me. The way I see it, wrong is wrong and right is right. Some things...
  2. How do you handle cheaters?

how is being accountable for reporting cheating, if you see it or know about it, different from being accountable for reporting another rn taking narcotics if you see it or know about it? what the...
  3. How do you handle cheaters?

There's no need to prove anything. You're not the lawyer, you're the witness. Your only responsibility is to report what you know (ie someone told you about themselves or you witnessed yourself)....
  4. How do you ace tests?

True, but more time "studying" could translate into doing more NCLEX style questions from NCLEX books....so, more studying can really help you improve on NCLEX style
  5. How do you handle cheaters?

I'd check out your school's honor code. Generally, it says that if you know about cheating and don't report it, you're as guilty of cheating as the cheaters. It doesn't seem like you actually saw...
  6. Well, that's probably because you can't get the flu from a flu shot. You could have had the flu already and not shown symptoms until your flu shot.....but you can't get the flu from the flu shot....
  7. NURSING... HELP?!

Most nursing programs require you do do a year or so of college first (specific classes they call prerequisites) before you apply to the nursing program. So, you won't have to go to a community...

  10. Do you consider the seasonal flu shot to be "brand spankin new?" The H1N1 shot is EXACTLY the same as the seasonal flu shot....it just has one dead virus particle in it instead of three. The seasonal...
  11. Huh??? I'd be fascinated to see documetation about this. Here's how they make the vaccine: An excerpt from the package insert of sanofi pasteur's Influenza A (H1N1) 2009 Monovalent Vaccine Influenza...
  12. I'm curious....if you wouldn't refuse the seasonal flu vaccine, why on earth would you refuse the H1N1. They're the same shot, with the exception that the seasonal shot has three dead virus...
  13. Except that most vaccines don't contain mercury anymore (in spite of there not being conclusive evidence that it caused a problem in the minuscule does that are in vaccines). Even two of the three...
  14. Ripoff Report: www.stethoscopes.com

Sorry you've had such a tough time with them. I ordered the same model as you (and got it engraved) from them and received it within 3 days
  15. I had the H1N1 shot and I didn't have any reaction at all. I was surprised, usually with seasonal flu shots I have a sore arm and a low grade fever for a few days....but with the H1N1, nothing at...
  16. How can you get BSN in 3 years?

Honestly, transferring schools tends to add time to your degree (I know of plenty of folks who's 4 year degree turned into a 5 year degree because classes don't transfer over. Once you through a...
  17. Towels for bathing

Three is a good guesstimate...however, if you're just starting out...bring an extra or two (if they're small). Better to have an extra than to get flustered because you ran
  18. What color are your school uniforms?

Our program is the same, for our last six months we do a preceptorship and we get to where whatever scrubs we want! As if graduating wasn't a big enough
  19. Should I stay at Chat tech for a and p (10 wks)?

At a guess, if it's like the classes I've taken, the reason that lab and lecture are separate at the university is that they don't want 150 students in the lab at the same time. So, all 150 of you go...
  20. Should I stay at Chat tech for a and p (10 wks)?

Is the whole series just 10 weeks? I know my school is on quarters instead of semesters (we have a Fall, Winter, and Spring instead of Fall and Spring). And our terms are 10 weeks. My A&P was...
  21. Range of motion?

Was he showing non-verbal signs of pain? (grimacing, flinching, etc) You could document that, or a lack of that. Did you do a pain assessment (PQRST)? Did you speak with the Pt.'s RN or CNA? (to...
  22. What do you wear in lab?

We have wear our clinical uniform (navy blue scrubs with school patch on left shoulder and white shoes). I like it. It's comfy and it's what we wear clinically, so I like that we practice dressed...
  23. should i stay or should i go

Ok, just to be clear.....you're doubting yourself (in spite of the fact that you're doing well in class and your clinical instructor says you're doing good)....because another RN (who I'm guessing had...
  24. Please share your thoughts on this matter.....

I think it can get a bit confusing, because not all nursing programs have a course called "Fundamentals." (I know mine doesn't, I can't imagine we're the only ones ) Of course all the same info is...
  25. Can nurses have piercings?

If you're in a nursing program, it should be pretty easy to get your hands on their dress code. It's likely spelled out pretty clearly there. My school's policy is similar to the ones above: one...
