  3. What is most stressful about aesthetic nursing?

Drama!!! I was in a spa with seriously, 5 employees and there was so much drama. only two people were there at a time, but it was definitely a stereotype of gossipy young girls (even though one was about 52) lol
  4. How Many Letters Do We Need?

    Man! I want your job!!!
  5. Have you ever met someone who regretted getting their NP?

The Tampa Bay Area. And really a lot of places all over the nation where I have applied for jobs.
  6. Have you ever met someone who regretted getting their NP?

Yep, sure do. But let me clarify. I regret my specialty, not the NP. I became a CNM and regrettably, did not do enough research on the job market. Without years of L&D experience, or years of midwifery experience, my job prospects have been...

    Not accepted
  8. EKU PMHNP Spring 2017

I am waiting acceptance as well! EKU is my alma mater (finished my RN to BSN there) and it's a wonderful well respected school.
  9. Tampa ARNP-one yr post grad still no job!

Per the OP, she us been working in home health. Guess what? Baycare mobile pool staffs their home health division as well.
  10. Tampa ARNP-one yr post grad still no job!

Wow. You are rude. I'm saying she can get a job as a nurse to get in the system.
  11. Tampa ARNP-one yr post grad still no job!

And it's really easy to get your foot in the door with Baycare via the mobile pool. Work a 3 month contract at $50/hr to get in the system.
  12. Tampa ARNP-one yr post grad still no job!

Baycare has a bunch of NP positions posted.
  13. A round about way into nursing informatics

Most schools offer that, but I've found there seems to be a bigger job market for those with IT degrees and being a nurse would make me more marketable to companies like cerner, McKesson, etc
  14. A round about way into nursing informatics

I'm already a masters degree nurse, with over 10 years experience. I want to be the most marketable that I can be.
  15. Senior Informatics Professional new to the site

I am curious if a second degree in an IT program would be more beneficial. I am a 10 year masters degree nurse looking to get into IT. Considering maybe a BS in programming.
  16. A round about way into nursing informatics

I am glad to see this post, I was just thinking today that perhaps a computer science degree, maybe in software design, would widen the field for possible opportunities. Many jobs for epic, cerner, etc are computer programming jobs, and having the n...
  17. CNM School with no L&D Experience?

Take it from someone who's been there. Although L&D isn't *required* and you can be a fine midwife with out it, employers will not even give your resume a second glance without that experience. Ive noticed even out of hospital settings tend t...
  18. Tampa ARNP-one yr post grad still no job!

My thoughts exactly. How is that in anyway helpful?
  19. PMHNP and CNM?

I would not. I'm a CNM going back for a PMHNP cert because of the job market for CNMs and my own experience with post partum depression. Midwifery is a fickle profession.
  20. Tampa ARNP-one yr post grad still no job!

Tampa, unfortunately, is a saturated area. Have you tried Tampa Family Health Centers? They always need NPs and it has loan repayment
  21. Med Spa NP

Its more how you present yourself, and your cover letter. My cert is as a CNM, but I was hired into a medspa for my enthusiasm, and personality, basically. I did work in a cosmetics store when I was in my ADN (over 10 yrs ago) so I made sure to men...
  22. How low would you go?

Florida pays terrible for everyone. staff nurses and ARNPs. Its a very saturated state, and the assumptions is that everyone wants to live in Florida and pay no state taxes so you can take less salary. Midwifery is the worst. I was offered a pos...
  23. Move to FL, Agency the Way to Go?

In the Tampa Bay area, Baycare health system is the way to go. I came down as a traveler 4 years ago, in the Baycare Mobile Pool. Its very easy, its an in house travel division. After my time as a traveler was up (the IRS says you can have company...
