  3. MD to NP

Your probably right. Most of it is rare disease stuff. I think it's main purpose is to just see who can do best one step one as a way to judge who gets what specialty for the most part. Still...
  4. MD to NP

Thus far gross anatomy has been pretty useful. One month in and we already have to find stuff like tiny little fractures on imaging and in anatomy lab we have cts mri and regular x rays and we have to...

  12. FNP care compared to MD

If you go to a good school and bust tail and finally land a good position in a learning environment you should be ok. For family practice you don't need a lot of the stuff you learn in med school....
  13. CRNA DNP with an MBA?

unless its a top 10-20 school an MBA is a fart in the wind. they offer it as a combining MD/MBA program where I'm in med school at. Theres no benefit. if you want to start a business learn it...
  14. Will there be too many NPs?

yeah a lot of law stuff can be automated now with like rocket lawyer and stuff like that. Used it for a business i owned a year or two ago (small business) never had to consult a lawyer for anything....
  15. Will there be too many NPs?

probably since there is no rate limiting step like there is for doctors. 1. its hard to credential a new medical school. 2. you can't just let everybody into a medical school (or dental school, etc)...
  16. No RN experence NP "non-nurse"

more opportunities and stuff to choose from. Also, just paid off my previous loans, and i Love love love being in debt so i figured another 200k can't hurt. just kidding on the last

Many people don't really understand the benefit of taking calculus, organic, chem, etc. they build studying skills, critical thinking skills, and build a scaffold for knowledge to build on. Plus they...
  18. So much for DNP being clinical doctorate

if you take note of what type of classes are in the DNP (ones that are easy to teach, do not cost much to teach, can all be done online) you can tell its mostly to make colleges money. it takes time...

  21. To the APRN Curriculum Critics

anatomy would be helpful for many things. Im in gross anatomy in my first semester of med school and it is sooooo much more indepth than the advanced anatomy/patho course I took in NP school. I mean...
  22. What do you guys think?

I would probably get a post masters psych cert, or read online about business stuff. MBAs tend to teach a lot of outdated business methodology (school dependent). Of course if it is a foot in the door...
  23. Allina Health not hiring online NP grads

nothing wrong with online as long as tests are proctored... and actually challenging/ relevant. I think the bigger problem is we really need all np schools to have on campus physical exam components...
