  1. Where do you float?

I'm curious about where Postpartum nurses float in other facilities. We are a couplet care unit and our nurses only float to NICU.
  2. There are a lot of nursing students that have previous undergrad degrees and even graduate degrees. Nursing is a career that is very attractive as a second career, I guess. In my program the oldest student was in her 60s and this was a traditional BS...

  11. Input math question

Basically you just add up the numbers. The first one is LR at 150/hr which comes to a total of 1350 for the total 9 hour surgery. then the next.
  12. Input math question

I just found this question on ATI it states "Cefazolin sodium (ancef) 2gm iv with piggy back in 100ml normal saline" not 200 so I got the right answer.
  13. Input math question

    I got 2625
  14. Input math question

This is simple addition. But you're right, I don't get that answer also. There are mistakes in textbooks sometimes.
  15. In Texas you can take it up to 8 times a year (45 day waiting period between each exam). I believe that most all states have a rule that if its been 2 years since you graduated, you must take a refresher.
  16. Doing these tips helped me stay in my Nursing program

For surviving pathophysiology, Dr. John Campbell's videos on youtube are awesome. Dr. John Campbell - YouTube

  18. TEAS exam Need tips to pass it

I bought a TEAS book I found on Amazon and studied it for two weeks prior to testing. I did well.
  19. Leaving Residency Program?

It just seems more ethical to postpone the wedding and fulfill your professional obligations. Seems like this is kind of a, for lack of a better word, childish reason to leave a residency.
  20. Input math question

    Sure, where's the question?
  21. NRSNG Academy vs Simple Nursing?

NCLEX is very different than exams in nursing school. The most important thing you can do is practice NCLEX style questions. The rationales on UWorld are really all the content you need. NCLEX is about safety and prioritization. Not content.
  22. Love! Preach it sister! Formula feeding made you a better mom. Plain and simple, that is the experience for a lot of moms.
  23. Nurse Bullying. Have you experienced it?

I'm sorry. But yes, if you come into work looking like you are going to prom do expect snickers (and not the chocolate kind). You have to know there is a time and place for each and every look. Glamour magazine calls it the day and night look. :)
  24. Opinion about a nurse's erros

People make mistakes. It happens. I'm sure from now on you will always double check. I tend to always place more blame on the individual with more experience/education. Ultimately, the buck stops there. However, if I had worked with my assistant...
  25. Why is nursing school so strict?

Welcome to the wonderful world of nursing. Yes, nursing school is torture. It seems like it's always been that way. Nursing students have been feeling the way you feel for a LONG time. Just look at all of those nursing school memes out there. It...
