Thinking about it,I probably answered messages that were posted months if not years ago so sorry about it but my main points remains. Even as a patient, you're still a nurse who's seen way worse. Layperson patients? Not so sure, like my example with ne...
I don't really see why you're talking about it again when all was said and done but since you did,I'll answer. You know that "medically speaking everytime a new IV is started there is an increased risk",a "normal" patient? Probably not. You're a nurs...
In what circumstances do patients versed alone?? I mean,if it isnt a pain relief, why use it alone? I understand the fact you can t suffer from something you don t remember but...You don t take a medication to forget you were in pain, you take it to no...
I wasn't really talking about me actually because I have very crappy veins and I doubt any nurse would even try to get an IV in another vein than the antecubital if I had to get antibiotics or blood... I was asking more about the fact it seemed the a...
I wouldn't have made many of my choices if I couldn't tolerate "a little discomfort"and I don't think a permanent discomfort that lasts for days is just a "little discomfort"... I have already said I understood if it was a matter of life or death. My...
I've never got an IV in the antecubital but I've given my blood and that's the worst IV site possible. It's meant to bend! There are other veins, why not put it elsewhere, where it's less uncomfortable?? Especially if the IV is supposed to stay for a f...
I understand how important a colonoscopy is but Ive read some horror stories on the internet about it,even on here where patients got just versed and were in pain for the whole procedure that scare me.
i If someone is drugged with ghb and doesn't remember their assault, were they really raped? Sorry but that's the same reasoning. If a patient can't get pain medication for medical reasons then so be it but "they won't remember it so their pain doesn...

As a patient(who goes to the ER a grand total of 2 times, both against my will),I'm sorry for the abuse you have to suffer daily. What would be the solution to avoid it? Just less of "the costumer's always right" mentality??

About the guy who got trashed during his colonoscopy,I disagree with the lawsuit. Strongly. He shouldn't have gotten anything. Hell, the lawsuit shouldn't have happened at all. Being insulted is not a reason to get money, evn if you're insulted by doct...
Interesting thread,as a patient I agree completely. However,if you don't give a **** about my pain or disease, don't pretend you do. If I have to put up with a ********,I prefer them to be honest. But maybe that's just me.

Oh god, some people are so stupid,I can't! What don't they understand in the word "emergency"??? That's self explanatory, though How can they wait for hours for dumb reasons like that??? Once thing is sure is they're way more patient that I am

I know and I'm sorry about that. Sadly, like always, courteous, respectful and compassionate professionals suffer from those so called professionals who take adavantage of the fact patients are asleep and not supposed to hear or remember, therefore ther...

How can I know?? I don't know per se but when doctors and medical students admit it themselves,it'd be complicated to not believe it happens https://www.google.fr/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=7&ved=0CE8QFjAGahUKEwjln...

Why would the OR be different?? Except from the fact OR teams feel free to make disparaging comments about patients because they're asleep and are not supposed to be able to hear?? That's a thing to say someone's fat/skiny while positionning or intu...
