Applying for CCRI in Spring 2017

Anyone else that feels like they've applied but didn't get an email...... Make sure that the application you submitted was to nursing and not general studies with a concentration in pre-nursing. Apparently a least one person so far thought they applied to the spring nursing program but what she or he actually did was apply to general studies with a concentration in pre-nursing.

Applying for CCRI in Spring 2017

Listen you all. I know this is nerve wrecking waiting to hear whether you've been accepted or not. But try to fill your time with other thoughts. Think about puppies chasing kittens on a beach with beautiful palm trees waving in the wind and a cat playing your favorite song on the piano. For those that don't get accepted, just keep in mind that you all qualify for admissions into the nursing program otherwise your application never would have been processed. Sometimes it's a matter of .1 points that separate those that get a spot and those that don't. Good luck all!

It appears that nursing will be lifting the five year expiration on BIOL1010. The only course that can't be older than 5 year is BIOL1020. BIOL1020 must not be older than 5 years when you are admitted or you will be required to retake it while you are in the nursing program.

It'll work the same way, you will have the option of ranking the four campus in the order of your preference. Then you'll have the chance to indicate whether you want all 4 campuses in play, or 3, 2, or 1. The default will be all four. If you change it from four to any other number you'll have to accept a disclaimer that by limiting the number of campuses you'll be reducing your chance of getting in.

Repeat limit, not really new, but is more likely to affect you now since we've had a few semesters since spring 2015, and course age on BIOL1010. Make sure that your BIOL1010 isn't more than 5 years old.

The range for the fall 2015 was 165.2 to 198.2. It really is dependent more on the size of the applicant pool. The spring semester programs are only two campus option where as the fall program has 4 campuses. They will accept double the number of students in the fall as they do for the spring so that means the points range will be wider. Plus like I said, yes psychology is out, but there are many new restrictions that can disqualify a person during the application process.

If someone decides not to take their spot, then they will go to the list and start offering a spot to the non accepted students according to points. So your chance depends on how many students decline, or fails to meet the additional requirements.

Jessica1216, next year they will use the cumulative GPA so that means your entire academic history can affect what you get for GPA points. I can't really speak on why the changes were made but I don't agree that it's going to be easier. There are many other conditions that have been added. Please review the nursing admissions guidelines for the next class.

Keep in that the potential range 138 to 200 to apply. We take the whole pool and accept them from highest to lowest points until all seats are taken. The ranges on your letters are the points range for students that got admitted. It's not a preset range.
  24. I_have_answers

CCRI Spring 2016 Applicants! Who's with me

No, the range is based on all the students that applied and got in. The lower end of the range is the last student that got in. The high end of the range is the first student that got in. The range can change form one application period to the other.
