How long does it take to get a temporary Maryland RN license?
I went through an online endorsement from PA to MD. After I applied online, my temp license was assigned within 48 hours. My permanent license however was assigned a few days before the 60 day period ended.

Has anyone failed the NCLEX with the computer stopping at 75?
The first time I took the NCLEX it stopped at 75 and I failed. Worst feeling ever.

uworld
Congrats. Uworld helped me the most as well. Luckily I was able to get the 30 day trial on Facebook. But it seems to have expired.

Nurses with pedometers - How far do you walk?
I walk anywhere between 5.5 to 6.5 miles a day in a 7.5 hour shift. By the time I get home I want to sleep and not wake up.

Jury awards $3M to fired nurse who complained of 'rushing patients through' to save money
Nice to hear. I see too many colleages thrown under the bus by patients and the hospital hearing the full story. Way too much shooting from the hips.

Do RNs get extra pay for working with students?
Not here. I'm currently assign to be the shadow for students and don't see any benefits $ wise.

How long to get License Number
Thanks I find it ridiculous that it takes them a month to assign a number once the applicant has passed. My potential employer has been holding a job for me until they can issue a temp license. It has been a month since I passed my NCLEX and 3 weeks since they have received the payment and still nothing.

Finally passed...yay
My fifth attempt was on Saturday and after trying the PVT trick and the unofficial results today, I conquered the mountain. 1st: I studied Saunders for 3 months and then took the Kaplan course. I was 50/50 in near passing or below passing on the nclex report. Exam stopped at 75. 2nd: Restudied Saunders and added la Charity and nscbn qbank. Exam ended at 88 questions and again I was 50/50. 3rd: Only took Hurst Review. Exam ended at 113 questions and I was near passing on all but 3 sections. 4th: Reviewed all my existing notes. Exam ended at 83. All sections were near passing. 5th: Subscribed to UWORLD and completed all the qbank. Studied the rationales on everything I missed and re took the qbank. The first time I had a 53% average. The 2nd time I had a 66% average. I took the exam and it ended at 118. I had 25 SATA a couple dose calc and that was it. I was sure I failed because SATA was my weakness. Out of all the courses, books and qbank I subscribed to, I would rate UWORLD at the top. The rationales was extremely detailed and after completing 1500 questions and reading the rationales and taking notes, I felt I learned more than any book or course. After uworld I would recommend Hurst. The content review really assisted in hammering down the topics I may have forgotten. It was a very tough year and a half. I wanted to quit, give up, change careers. My husband kept supporting me and with hard work and praying to the lord, I was finally able to conquer it. To my fellow foreign nurses, keep at it and don't give up. You can do it.
