This is not always the case. I knew a colleague who became a traveling nurse. He was considered a new grad with about 2 months experience. It depends on your company.

No, my husband is a welder. I once thought this was a common, my MIL is also a nurse and FIL is a welder. We have several friends that are nurse/welder marriages.
I think it depends on the instructor and the facility. When I was a student we were allowed to eat wherever and with whomever we wanted but we were not allowed to leave the grounds.
