About LorenW28

Originally from a small town in Southeast Texas, now living in Dallas, TX. I was accepted into Collin College in McKinney, TX as well as Western Governors University nursing programs. I chose Collin College due to my future plans of pursuing an advanced nursing degree as a CRNA that requires a GPA from nursing school. I plan on being a travel nurse for a while to gain the experience and knowledge, then go back for to become a CRNA when I am ready to start settling down. :)

  1. Opinions on W's?

Check your programs you are applying to. Most will list on the website that there is a 2-3 attempt limit. A "W" is an attempt. It took me 3 years to complete my pre-reqs just because life happened and I had to drop classes here and there. I still got...

  5. WGU Pre-licensing BSN for 2015

SocBooKyraMartz is right. Originally when I applied, I was applying for the OC cohort. Since my address was in Hollywood, they declined me. My counselor told me that most likely the reason they declined me was to keep me close to my main cohort. So, ...
  6. CNA first then RN?

Valpak, that's exactly what happened with a friend of mine. She was working as a Patient Care Tech at a large hospital here in Dalla, TX while in her ADN program. She had an offer from the hospital before she even finished her degree. So I can confir...
  7. Collin College Fall 2015 ADN

Mylife7, yes, they said about 270 qualified students applied, and 60 students were selected for the fall program. I believe they said they were hoping the new Health Science Center will be opening late Fall then they will start the moving process, bu...
  8. CNA first then RN?

Cream and Sugar, I thought the same thing, but that is what the professor of a very well respected and one of the largest nursing schools in the nation told us in our orientation when she came to speak to us about the 12 month BSN bridge program.
  9. CNA first then RN?

I was thinking of doing the same thing to help me get accepted into a nursing program and gain the experience. To increase your chances of getting in, if you don't have excellent test scores and a high GPA, then yes go for it. The experience will be ...
  10. Mens nursing shoes?

I had the same issue, and I have to have some that are mostly white... I found these, and they don't look old mannish. They are ranked among the top shoes for male nurses. Good luck on your search!
  11. WGU Pre-licensing BSN for 2015

I don't have a degree and I was accepted for the August 1st cohort for Huntington Memorial Hospital. However, I declined the offer since they only give a 3.0 GPA, and I need a 3.5+ GPA for CRNA school after my BSN. I was accepted into another school,...
  12. Collin College Fall 2015 ADN

Oh I'm sorry, I misread your post. That's good that you've completed them! It'll make nursing school that much more easier for you. I retook several classes. A&P 2 was one of them. Life got in the way and I had to drop it the first time, but reto...
  13. Collin College Fall 2015 ADN

You're welcome! You still have quite a few classes you can take to boost your GPA. A few B's here and there probably won't hurt you that badly. Just work really hard to get A's in those last classes. As for the Humanities/Finearts/Phil you only nee...
