    After the interview....

If anyone looks in and wonders the results, here is what happened: I did not call to check on my status, however the day after I posted this, I received my rejection email. It was not the position God had planned for me, so on to the next!

Hey! I'm in a similar situation. Like, literally! Graduated at the same time and I've worked outpatient only, though I am a PACU nurse so I have critical care experience but no acute care-- go figure!! Don't consider yourself a new grad though-- you do have experience, just different experience! I talked to someone in HR and she did say that in our circumstances, fellowship is the way to go. I went for broke and applied for the CVICU.

    After the interview....

Hello all! I recently had an interview for my dream position and I'm kind of wondering what to do next. I applied for the position a little over two months ago and had the interview a little over one month ago. I feel that the interview went really well- I even got a tour of the unit and got a chance to talk to multiple nurses and other staff on the unit. I received a reference request a few days later and completed that within the week. I really want this position and I'm praying this is where God wants me. Before leaving, the CNS told me to be patient because apparently HR is really backed up. This particular unit just hired a new grad who thought she had lost out on the job because of how long the job offer took. In another area of AllNurses, I saw that this hospital is known for taking a long time with job offers- even up to 6 months! I'm trying to be patient but I'm going a little crazy to be honest! Should I call HR to check on the status of my application? If so, what should I say? I need help!! I have two years of experience and I'm venturing into a new specialty that means a lot to me, so I would really appreciate any advice you guys have to give. Thank you!

Hi! I'm applying for the transition fellowship as well! You're not alone! So far I've received a request for a phone interview about 6E. I did the same thing last year. After the phone interview with HR, my resume was sent to the unit, and it was turned down there . On the plus side, their HR was super nice! Higher hopes for this year!!

Not yet! I’m checking my email every 5 minutes! I can’t remember where, but I read that if we are to receive an interview invite it will be by today. Interviews will take place the week of the 24th.

    Advice From Season Nurses

I've never worked in an ICU, but this does not seem like the place to feel alone. The more experienced nurses should have your back, if not for your sake, at least for your patients'. I agree with what others have said about reporting- you really must because this is not acceptable and you (and every other new grad) deserve better. Unfortunately, our system is far from perfect and you may feel retribution for this reporting. I definitely recommend finding a new unit ASAP because there is WAAAAY better out there for you. I wish you luck and encourage you to not let this destroy your love for critical care- we need more nurses with your passion and commitment.

Hi Everyone! I've been watching this post, so I finally decided to log on and join the conversation myself. I've applied for the Fellowship program to the Post-op Inpatient Unit, and I'm still waiting on a response. Almost there, 5 days left to hear back! I'm holding my breath for a call...

Riverside Community College Fall 2015 RN

Hi everyone! I just found this thread and I am so happy to see that most everyone here got in after all that hard work and stress! I was accepted as well and have registered for the Kaiser Riverside rotation-- yay! I am beyond excited and can't wait to start classes with you all. I just received my uniforms (super cute) and clinicals bag yesterday but I didn't get any paper that lists all the items we should have received with the bag. Does anyone have such a list?
