The Real War Against COVID-19 in America

Would that all these things could be resolved. But we know how this will turn out... Nurses, doctors, healthcare providers who give a damn, will continue to sacrifice for the community they serve. CEOs and others upper administration will continue to take all they can in salary, bonuses, and other benefits. We make our choice and live with the consequences. It's hard to walk out on patients who need you. God bless us everyone..

    Witchcraft resurgence

Obviously the OP is a troll. If not a troll, a seriously stunted or very young "prenursing student".. Her "surgeon daddy" should take away her internet access.

Why is BSN required for CRNA?

Looks like the first two semesters are taught via distance education! Which most prestigious university in Louisiana offers this program?

    Everyone is white?

Pasty??? Well, try being pasty with little brown spots on that pasty skin also, then tell me about being white, black, brown, red, or yellow !!!! Try being freckled everywhere the sunshine hits you! I grew up wishing I was either white or brown, anything but freckled... People with their monotone skin of any color just don't know how much bullying they do. Oh, and red hair doesn't help, either... Carrot top was one of the nicest names I was called. Also called "one of those smart girls" by people who maybe weren't so "smart". Thank God my momma and daddy and brothers didn't contribute to the bullying. I grew up and married a man who loves my hair and freckles. Raised kids who are not racist, or judgmental of people. You can only judge someone by how they behave and how they treat or mistreat others. I If this op is not being mistreated, called names, or snubbed by that management of coworkers, what's the problem??

"Not sure what unit you will be hired into..."

And I bet you would be great since you do great at outpatient, private duty, home health... It's really a shame...

CEO Says More Nurses Won't Improve Care

Well, since his LPN license is current, he can help out on the floor! Oh, he's not a registered nurse so a RN will have to cover him and he can have an extra patient, too. Isn't that how it works? Total cocky jerk.
  7. I had the same problem years ago. Long story short - he was right. Without a college degree, he made a good living for us, worked hard, was attentive husband and father. Just wanted me to wait until our three kids were older. I waited ten years til youngest was 17. He still didn't like it but "allowed" me to start school. We had two kids and me in college, no assistance from government other than my nursing scholarship for my last two years. I knew he was happy for me when he bought me a "first aid kit" in my second semester... He later retired at age 60 and I worked 19 years til age 67. I love that man for his love and support all those years and am glad to still have him. I do think the OP should get some kind of counseling with her husband about what else may be going on with them. But the advice to leave him, divorce him, etc. is just wrong. A marriage is a partnership. Education should not come before the marriage. The marriage should be their priority in life, otherwise, why are they married?

    Essential oils

Lactose intolerance is a real condition! More than 1 or 2 tablets should be used with a meal containing any dairy product. I've lived with this for 15 years. Give the kid the stuff to save her the pain and discomfort of gas/diarrhea.

    Leaving Bedside Nursing

Are you saying that those same people don't ask a million questions when you are supposed to be managing their care? You don't sit and talk and counsel them as a CM?? Are you really a nurse at all?

    NO MILLION YEARS of experience!
  14. Sad that they didn't require a real I and O and check the fundus. With my first they massaged the fundus more than once a day ((1966, I was there five days) and with my others (last one in 1975)), never!

    Calling yourself an RN

This is true in North Carolina, too. Illegal to call yourself nurse if you're not a RN, LPN, or other legal nurse label. Nursing assistants, medical assistants, housekeeping, secretaries, orderlies, techs, etc. are not nurses and should not represent themselves as such. Their badge should clearly state their role and scope of practice should be important.

How would deal with these type of CNAs?

Your first rule of never doing anything with others outside of work stinks in my opinion. Many meals have been shared by me and my coworkers after a hard day or night. Baby showers, wedding showers, going to weddings of coworkers is common when the shifts can be covered. Hospital is not so different from any other company where someone might work. Lighten up some there. The second rule of calling cohorts by Mr. or Miss or Mrs. is strange and too formal for people who help wipe butts and all the other intimate stuff we do with our patients. Your third rule of never speaking to a person alone without a witness seems strange. If you have so little trust of the staff that you're afraid they'll misquote you or claim something that didn't happen - that's a big problem! Are you for real.
