Hi everyone, thank you in advance for taking the time to read this. I'm currently in my 2nd year at Wayne State University and have decided to change my career path to nursing. I initially wanted to do nursing but decided to do medicine. Now after realizing I have a very slim chance at medical school (due to being an international student, and lower gpa) I've decided to do nursing as I initially wanted to. I am a Canadian student, so I'm looking for a nursing school that would accept me as an international. My first year was tough, I had personal issues going on therefore resulting in a low gpa and bad start. I have a 2.67 gpa. I am looking into the ADN to BSN route as I don't think I will be able to be accepted to a BSN direct program due to my low gpa and the high competitiveness of the programs. I'm looking into Chamberlain very seriously, the high cost is not an issue as I really require getting into nursing. They require a 2.75 minimum at any previous universities. Do you think I will get rejected even if I perform well on the HESI exam which they require? Please be honest, if anyone has any stories of acceptances with a low gpa it would greatly help. Thank you so much. This is causing me so much stress!!! Any other easier, less competitive ADN Programs would be highly appreciated!!! ANYTHING HELPS.
