About alexmichael

I am an aspiring certified nurse midwife! My background is in biological anthropology, where I was initially interested in how diet plays a role in human evolution. My master's thesis investigated modern human nutritional variation across diverse socioeconomic areas which sought to broadly understand the question, 'Do individuals have equal access to good nutrition?' I'd like to take what I've learned as an anthropologist and apply it to my career as a certified nurse midwife, emphasizing the importance of good nutrition during pregnancy and the development of the infant. In addition, I strongly believe that birth should be treated as a normal biological process, taking care to use interventions only when necessary.
