  1. I applied to every residency position they posted except for L&D. The very next day both my friend and I got emails that we weren't being considered for ER. Has anybody heard from other departments yet?
  2. I'm in my first semester at NCTC. I would not recommend buying the Kaplan study book. It is completely different from the test and a waste of my time in my opinion. Study your physiology. There aren't any anatomy questions. Math is basic: fractions, ratios, percentages. Good luck!
  3. I'm definitely down to carpool and I know a couple of other people in Denton that want to also. I'm in group 1 for clinicals and have first lab on tuesdays. Waiting for the fb info and we can talk about it there.
  4. I was able to get on angel but maybe that's because I had an online summer class that just finished a couple of weeks ago.
  5. Nobody I know can find the group either
  6. I had to get petite also so I ordered mine on amazon. Mine are just like jls0459 described in a previous post: drawstring, elastic waist flare pant. My white ones are cargo style also, wink brand.
  7. I got the flare leg too in Landau and I just saw the list from last year and they said only style #7602 and 8327 for pants. Mine are #8335. I thought we could get any style as long as they were true red.
  8. Which sleeve do we need to put our patches on? And I know nothing about sewing patches, do you take it to an alterations place for that??
  9. Is blood work a requirement for the physical? I just had blood work done a couple of months ago.
  10. I got my blue card today :-)
  11. That's right Stevebeuke
  12. I got the most current edition on the Lab and Diagnostic tests and Nursing Diagnosis Handbook. Used they were 5-10 dollars and in good shape. Unless ya'll just have to have them brand new, I would recommend amazon.
  13. I'm getting my box of books at the NCTC bookstore and using my financial aid. As far as the other books, I already got 2 of those on the list used on amazon for 5 dollars apiece. Those prices are ridiculous.
  14. Congratulations!
  15. I know the girl who was alternate 1 for the generic track was just told someone dropped so she's in now. I've done the fingerprinting, background check and immunitrax, Trans2RN
  16. We all will be together @shine_on and rnhope2b. I'm definitely up for car pooling. That drive is going to be rough.
  17. Does anyone else have the 9:00 lab on Tuesday?
  18. I thought this blue card was coming in the packet...we have to wait for them to mail it to us?
  19. Got mine! Clinicals on Wednesday. Anyone else?
  20. Ok I've had mine as sciences until I got into the program. Thanks!
  21. Did anyone else get an email about changing their major to ADN? Do we literally need to call the school to change our major in the system or was that sent to just let me know I'm in? She said acceptance letter have been sent out and they'll register us first week of august.
  22. Good news everyone! My friend was at the office today and the lady said they were mailing out packets today or tomorrow morning. Be on the look out!
  23. Ok thanks everyone! And that's true Twishes, it said on a lot of CNA applications that they accept anyone who's been through first semester clinicals in rn school.
  24. I'm thinking about getting used books as well. Question for those of you who already work in a hospital: I'm currently a dental asst but as I am the only one in the office and am needed Monday - Friday 8-5 I won't be able to continue working here. I've been applying for positions such as patient sitter and have gotten emails saying they have better qualified candidates, even though it's a position that requires no experience. My boss and I do go to the OR on Fridays so I'm familiar with setting up in there. Does anyone have a recommendation for what position to apply for? Am I missing something??? Any advice is appreciated!
  25. I had to order my sneakers online because I wear a size 5, but if ya'll are still looking the Sketchers for work women's Felix marathon sneaker don't have any vent holes and are all leather. Got mine on amazon for $48. Also bought my scrubs and 2 used books for 5 bucks each.
