Travel nursing pay, is it worth it?

I’m thinking about accepting a travel assignment with AYA. The total gross weekly pay is $1618.00. The average taxable hourly rate is $15.00. It is 48 hours. Does that mean I’m taking a major pay cut? 48x15.00=720.00. So if I’m correct that will only leave me with $898.00 weekly. Can anyone help me figure this out before I take the assignment.
  2. Thanks MOYAMA2BSN. That was really helpful.

  4. I was thinking more towards August, right before the start date of September 3rd. Just to make sure I'm prepared enough. So happy for you. I know you'll do well.
  5. Congrats!!! So how was the hesi test for you? That's my only fear. I've been studying the elsevier edition 4 hesi admission assessment exam review. I hope that's helping to get prepared for the test.

Is 35 too old to start from Scratch?

I look at it this way, life is too short to not go after ones dreams, desires or whatever you may call it. You don't want to be on your death bed wondering about all the things that could of been. You don't want to go through life full of regrets. Where there's a will there's a way. I believe you should pursue your dream of being a nurse. 35 or 85. You only have one life to live. Live life to the fullest. Go after what you really want. Don't let anyone discourage you.

    "Smart" students make bad nurses?

This is one of the best pieces of advice that I have received about nursing. I'm a new nurse and been trying to adjust to everything that comes along with it. There is a lot of nurses eating their young where I work and it becomes intimidating at times. I'm very happy I came across this post, Lord knows I needed some encouragement. Thank you so much.

LPN who does not want to be an RN?

You know what...I'm in school now and that's all I hear from others. They say when you finish school don't sit out to long to become an RN or the famous one every LPN has heard"don't just stop here continue your education to an RN". Now don't get me wrong I do see myself ultimately as an RN in the future but let me get my feet wet as a LPN first. Now when I here others say that I say in due time that will happen but right now I'm fine with getting a LPN diploma then moving on. At the end of day you have to do what's best for you...what's gonna make you happy and what's gonna save you money.

    LPN to RN pressure

Thanks I have been doing alot of research and LPNS where I live can make as much as 30 dollars an hour, so I defintely feel you on that. But I guess those who say continue on are talking about getting a higher title and fulfilling there absolute dream. That's just my guess though
