  1. 9:23 pm by Nola009 I just graduated and passed the NCLEX last year. I posted on your other thread before. You seem like a good, and proud parent. Congrats to both you and your daughter...the nurse!:) Congratulations to you !!!! That's great !! I remember your post. Hard to believe you can actually say my daughters name the ... the nurse. Kind of hits home when you put it in writing for me.
  2. 8:16 pm by NursePallasFNP2b CONGRATULATIONS to her!!! I don't know her, but after taking and passing the test myself, I know she must be one tough (and bright) cookie! I'm proud of her and wish her well on this new chapter in her life! And what a great dad you are for being so happy for her that you share the good news with us. Thanks for this bright spot in my day, and have an awesome one yourself! You are awesome. Thank you for the nice compliment and that brightens my day. It's not hard to do I don't think. I will tell her what you said. It will be interesting to see what happens in the future. Thank you again.
  3. 7:50 pm by Anna G Great job ! I really proud of people who can do it Thank you. It is something to be proud of. You can do it also if you have not already. Your school should teach you everything you need to know.
  4. Congratulations!!!! That is wonderful!!! I agree, it is possible to pass the test at first try :) I'm a foreign educated nurse from Germany and was out of nursing for 7 years and I passed the NCLEX-RN even though English isn't my mother tongue. There you go. It is possible and 90% do pass the first time and so can you. Congratulations on passing. That could not have been easy with such a long break.
  5. :46 pm by Nola009 Congrats!!! You must be proud!:) Hard not to be proud. It's a long journey as you know. Anyone who gets through it should be given a medal. Are you a student ?
  6. 12:16 pm by bmieres31 Congratulations to your daughter! I am preparing for the NCLEX and can't wait to pass so that my parents are proud as you are. Congratulations once again. Thank you. My dear, I have a feeling your parents are extremely proud of you right now. Just writing this note to someone you don't know is proof enough that they should be proud. Passing the NCLEX would just be icing on the cake for them.
  7. Hi Thank you to all of you. It has been a real pleasure reading your posts and comments here. What a great group. Makes me wish I was a nurse. Keep supporting each other. You won't find that in too many other fields. I meant what I said about the NCLEX. I know I am not the one who took it. But, believe in yourself and study for it. Almost 90% of the people who take it the first time pass. It's easy to get scared when you read someone did not pass. Numbers don't lie. As nurses and future nurses you know that. I will drop in once in a while just because you have me hooked on this board. Please be safe in what you do and smile about something every day !!!
  8. Hi Keane68 , That is great news! Congratulations to your daughter, & kudos to you for being such an involved, supportive father. Wishing you & your family continued success & happiness . You are really nice to say that. I honestly just helped financially like every parent tries to the best they can. I have always been supportive as are most parents. I think we always hear about the bad ones. I wish you and your family all the happiness in the world. You are a special person to take the time to write what you did. Take care
  9. Sep 22 by klone Congrats to her! I remember your other post here - was she able to get into a residency program? Hi, what a memory. She has not been able to get into a residency program yet. I think like most people she was afraid to apply to anything until she passed her nclex. Now, it's full speed ahead. Of course, with bumps along the way.
  10. 12:54 am by kadeemb get it girl! lol. I will tell her.
  11. Sep 22 by laKrugRN Congrats to her Thank you for taking the time to say that.
  12. Thank you so much. I bet you will never forget what it feels like to never have to take that test again !
  13. Thank you. As all of you know, it is a long journey to get to this point. I told her just to pat herself on the back this week and appreciate all the hard work she has put in.
  14. Just wanted to pass along some good news. My daughter passed the NCLEX she took September 19. I know so many of you obsess about it on here. Honestly, it seems according to her that if you have been a good student you will do fine. It is hard but nothing you can not handle. Just believe in yourself. She passed in 75 questions and did it under an hour even with a break. She paid for the quick results and found out yesterday. So, hopefully this will give you some confidence going forward. Have a great day !!
  15. Thank you so much. That is very nice of you to say. We have been through the ringer and came out on the side. We both know that is not parenting. When and if you become a parent you will like me not want your child to endure that nightmare. One thing about it, that upbringing makes you find the little things in life to smile about.
  16. Exactly. You are so right.
  17. Thank you and congratulations on getting the job. I can tell you have determination. That alone will take you far. You will get your job in a hospital. You will now have experience to draw on and put on your resume. It seems that is what hospitals require most. Experience.
  18. I love that movie !! It was extremely boring you are right. The training was intense.
  19. Yes, I was one of the guys in the silos. It's like a city down there. You were required to stay down for two weeks and then have two weeks above ground. Believe it or not almost all the civilian population knew where they were. But, getting close to them is another thing. Wichita Falls KS. Dorothy should have stayed in Oz.
  20. Be grateful of your good memories. It makes it feel like he is still watching over you. My thoughts concerning my Dad border on contempt even after all the years he has been gone. Is that how we want to be remembered by our children ? I lost the lottery but not the sense of my self worth and what I could do with my life. My Mom. I used to be close until I was old enough to realize what she allowed to happen under her watch. I know she is my Mom but parents do not let those things knowingly happen and turn the other cheek. I did not raise my daughter the way I was raised. Thankfully for me and her. However, I raised mine the way I wish I would have been raised. I raised her like you raised your daughter. I love how you talk about your daughter. How cool is that? I get to go to the campus next week and help pick out my daughters cap and gown and get instructions on what to do when we attend the graduation. Just think, you will be doing that in four years. It will fly by. And because she knows I like this she also bought tickets to a Sherlock Holmes exibit in Columbus close to campus. That is what I mean. She does little things to show her appreciation. Take care
  21. What an awesome post. You and I are twins separated at birth. I could have not have said it better if I took two months to write it. My parenting approach is exactly like yours. Your salute to your Dad is just wonderful. I hope my daughter will remember me some day as you remember your Dad. Thank you.
  22. I certainly want her to take a breather for a few weeks after the NCLEX. After that, based on everyone else's post she might have to suck it up for a year or two and then hopefully take a vacation. thank you for that great compliment. I am a caring father. Are you a Mom?
  23. I am afraid if I am a helicopter parent the helicopter has caught fire and crashed. I am not sure caring about your child is ruining them. I asked a simple question to gain insight into the nursing profession. I have had many great responses. Please read some of my responses to them. I responded to Grn Tea also."Proud member of the Proud Fathers Society" Thank you
