My interest in Nursing stemmed from my son, he was Dx with Aspergers @ age four. I knew I could not "fix it" but needed to understand it. So I read and researched and began his treatment. Watching therapist work with him, my interest peaked even more. As a mother of 2 young ones I decided to start with Medical Transcription. I did this for two years and it still was not enough, I wanted to "see" what I was transcribing, understand what the labs ment to that patient, the medications, etc. Next, I became an CNA in a Nursing home, but my curiosity was still not satisfied, which lead to a Tech PN program that truly changed my life! Upon graduation I landed my dream job and hit the floor running! The knowledge I gained, the interaction with patients, teaching, saving a life, holding the hand of a life as they passed on, I was happy! Of course I am continuing my education with the goal of BSN- possibly Masters .... I love floor nursing! I love being an advocate for patients and co-workers! This is where I belong!
