Hey everyone! I also received an email on the 9th for an interview to the ELMSN-FNP program. This essentially means we made quite a decent first cut right? Since there are about 300-400 applicants and 30-60 spots, they must only call 100 or less to ...
  13. Apply anyways! They will be able to see that the courses you are taking are in progress. They also look at many other factors such as letters of recs, personal statements.. and for your case, make sure your TEAS scores are high! That will compensa...

  15. Hey guys! I just got an email for an invitation to interview for admission to Spring 2017 ELMSN-FNP! Group interviews will be held September 21-22 for the Sacramento Cohort. Has anyone else gotten an email? I was wondering if the San Mateo will also...

I also want to know when they usually start calling people for interviews!
  17. An MSN would still be a good fit since it would put you ahead of the other job candidates! Regardless, it's worth it to apply I think.
  18. New grad programs are on the floor training. So you're technically already working. They're quite competitive, and the best way to get in is to get a foot in the door somehow
  19. She's a Patient Care Technician and is applying for the new grad program on the labor and delivery unit this fall. So the managers already know her, this way will be easier for her because she's already working on the unit she'll be applying to. But ...
  20. The only reason you'd want a BSN and MSN is if you want to work with your BSN to get experience first in the department that you want to specialize in, then do the MSN to specialize in that unit. For example, in order to qualify for midwifery, you ha...
  21. I don't think you will be disqualified if you only have an MSN. You may be overqualified for some positions. But you won't get turned down for not having a BSN. An MSN is even more respected so that's not an issue. BSN is required as a "minimum."
  22. It's good to see the format and questions. It doesn't hurt your app to take it twice
  23. I work with someone who just graduated from that same program. For me, if I'm going to get an MSN, I want to be a specialized nurse practitioner. (There's also nurse anesthetist and midwifery for other people's interests). The MSN for nursing allow...
  24. Sounds good. I'm on it! Thanks for the idea. I've been sold on private schools so I didn't think about looking at states anymore since I really want to go to SMU. But you're right. Definitely worth the shot. They only look at the writing portion. Doe...
  25. Awesome!!! State is more likely to accept high GPAs! So you certainly have a shot.
