Islands Hospice is hiring, if you're interested. I've seen previous advertisements in MidWeek and most recently on Craigslist.

    School Nurse in Hawaii

Hi all! Does anyone here currently work as a school nurse and able to provide insight on patient load, day to day activities, charting, work hours and pay? Any information would be appreciated! Thank you!
  6. Hello! Does anyone know if the University of Wyoming still has a clinical component for the RN-BSN online program for 2013? I browsed through previous threads (2011) that mentioned NURS 4975 Professional Practicum requires 120 hours of clinical (8 hours per week over the course of the 15 week semester in some type of community-based nursing). However, the University of Wyoming's website states that there currently isn't any clinical component in the program. Also, NURS 4975 is no longer listed under their nursing classes. Am I to assume that there really is NO clinical component?? Or is it hidden in another nursing course? I just want to make sure that NO clinical component really means NO clinical component. Lol! Thanks!! http://www.uwyo.edu/nursing/_files/pdf/rn-bsn-pdfs/rn-bsn_program-of-study_2012_2013.pdf http://www.uwyo.edu/nursing/programs/rn-bsn-completion/rn-bsn_faq-page.html

    RN position for new grad

Hi there! Would you mind sharing that list of nursing homes that accept New Grads? I've looked for LTCs/SNFs online, but some don't even advertise or have any websites. Thank you!

    Job Hunting....and failing!

I'd also like to add that Queen's only hires BSNs. Also, I spoke to a person in HR @ Castle Medical Center. They have a new grad program available once or twice a year with approximately 6 spots, but they only hire in-house.

    Hawaii Pacific Health

Hi there! I see that your question has already been answered, but I'd just like to elaborate on the "skills testing". It was 30 questions in 30 minutes. There were a lot of math questions, but they did provide a calculator and scratch paper.

    Job Hunting....and failing!

Hi All! I'm new to AllNurses! :) I'm a New Grad with both LPN & RN licenses (Oahu). I applied to more than a few places, but haven't received any responses. I'm wondering if I should "follow-up" on my application status, but don't want to be seen as "annoying". Does anyone know how the local companies feel about "following-up"? Is a phone call or email better? Has anyone "followed-up"? If so, what was your experience(s)? (I don't have the name of the hiring manager, and I mailed in my application(s)). Also, I've been thinking about applying to LTC/SNF facilities, but most of them don't advertise on the main channels (Career Builder, Monster, etc.) and have no websites either!!...Does anyone know where LTCs or SNFs usually advertise? Any tips/advice would be great! Thanks! :)
