  1. Good morning, Quick question for anyone: I was hoping to find out if anyone knows if I am eligible to get my medical surgical certification bonus if I took a commission bonus and school loan pay off bonus when I signed up for the Air Force? Or, do I have to wait till all of that is paid back before I can take the certification bonus? It seems like I should be able to get the bonus for certification. But, I was just curious. Hopefully, that makes sense. Thanks!!!
  2. Also, Do I have to only go to the military college or am I able to go to anyone of the state schools in the country?
  3. Thank you so much! Thet clarifies a lot of things. So, if I decided to get my family practice DNP instead, I would need to two years at my first duty station, correct? Do you have any experience with applying for the program? I've heard that some years it's very easy to get in and others it can be more difficult. Any reason for that? I have another question for you. I was a little curious about my retirement. I have nine years in the Navy and would like to make it to 20 total. Do you Know if those nine years are added into your equation as far as making rate and be in eligible for all the benefits?
  4. Hello all you knowledgable Air Force nurses!!! I just recently commissioned and will be starting the NTP program in a couple of weeks and I am already looking ahead. I want to be a psychiatric DNP and was hoping I could get some insight as to how I am able to do that while on active duty and what I can do now to start preparing. Continuing my education is a top priority for me and I hope you all can shed some light on how to make that happen. Again, I'm active duty, NTP candidate, and want to get my DNP as a Mental Heath NP. How do I accomplish this...Go!!! 😷 Thanks, John

  6. Looks like we'll be doing training together! I'm also going to COT at the end of March and doing my NTP in Scottsdale in May!
  7. COT is 30 Mar 15 your NTP is 6 May 15 in scottsdale and duty assignment is wright patterson afb ohio.
  8. Hang in there, you'd be surprised how quickly they can go through alternates as more needs arise. I think you're in a pretty good position!
  9. Hey, did any of your recruiters mention where you will be going for orders?
  10. Okay guys, contact your recruiters! Results are in. I've been selected! Excited to talk to The other selectees. Congratulations Utah, we had four selectees!
  11. I think they were going to except 30–35 people. So it looks like they decided on the higher number. Pretty much, that means 40 total with the OB selectees. If there really were only about 100 applicants, those are pretty good numbers. Too much stress!
  12. Agreed! Good luck man, hopefully we hear something soon. However, unlike everybody else is recruiter, I've heard nothing from mine recently :-)
  13. So, I've been meaning to ask, are there any other guys out there applying?
  14. No, I haven't heard anything from him yet either. I hope my previous work helps. It would be nice to get something out of all those years. We should know soon.
  15. There was, you? Yup, I'm finishing up now. I've been working as a patient tech for a few years and I was a Navy helicopter rescue swimmer for 10 years. I hope we hear something soon. Have you heard anything from SSgt?
