What street clothes do YOU wear in nursing school?
My professors loved me, and I wore Disney T-shirts, and jeans. I am a straight A student. Be professional, work hard and be comfortable. I was put together at clinical, slick back pony tail, crisp clean pressed uniform. Be you, if you have a presentation dress more professional.

wearing nurse memorabilia before becoming a nurse?
My mom gave me a nurse Christmas ornament when I was in LPN school, I wouldn't put it on my tree till I graduated and passed my boards. I told her she could see it the next Christmas. I took my boards July 2nd found out I passed on the 4th, and my mom passed away suddenly on July 8th. I didn't want to jinx anything either. I wonder if I should of hung it so she could see it. I would of never wore anything with nurse on it before I became a nurse Ps An LPN is a nurse

Tuition Assistance (aka Contract?)
I'm doing this now, I'm a LPN my job is suing for RN everything but, books and uniforms. I need to give back four years, in that time I will gain tons of experience, and my BSN. I do love where I work. I would not do it if I didn't. Also in this job market, I will have a job!

Random drug tests in nursing school?!
We don't have drug stats for the RN program I'm in. The LPN one had one to get in. I work as a LPN at 2 different places , one had a drug test one didn't. I say bring it, I have nothing to hide. I would like to think if I had a problem someone would offer help.

LPN. or BSN Programs
I am doing steps, it works for me. I did a 1 year LPN program, found a job right out of school. Started my pre-recs. received a scholarship from where I work RN school paid for( not books or uniforms) I started a ADN RN program January 2014 will graduate December 2014. Then I will do BSN, then NP. I feel the more education, more work experience never hurt anyone. You must do what's right for you.
