Where I work, the doctor must ID the patient before we can bring back.
  3. i need help from pipol in houston!

Correct, Rice University does not have a nursing program. The BSN programs in Houston are: Texas Woman's University, University of Texas-Houston, Prairie View University and UTMB in Galveston. You can take your pre-reqs at any of the community col...

the books are so huge...it wouldn't me worth it
  5. UT-Houston!

Yall may want to wait on getting some of your books....you should get something about having a senior buddy....I would recommend this so you can get another viewpoint about school, plus you could probably borrow some of their books since you really d...
  6. UT-Houston!

The Metro U pass is very convenient but we just got an e-mail that they may not be doing it anymore. We will know more by July 20th. I hope they do keep it b/c it was only $60 for one year. Congrats to all who have been accepted :balloons:

You are awesome (your redheaded friend)
  8. UT-H vs. TWU-H costs

You will have one day off a week for most students. I believe a Saturday clinical is offered as well, so you could have off the Wed and Thursdays once clinicals start in October.
  9. UT-H BSN program Fall 2006

Just enjoy your time off...b/c you will wish you had time once you are in school. If someone wants to set up a time to meet this week in the Houston area, I can meet you guys somewhere, just let me know. I start school again on the 22nd, so this w...
  10. UT-H BSN program Fall 2006

Sorry I'm late replying about this.....the school offers a U-Pass (I think it's $60 for one year).....I would get in for sure and get it ASAP b/c they run out. I live near 290 and the Beltway, so I can tell you which buses to ride if needed.
  11. UT-HSC Fall '06 Applicants

Please don't go into nursing with that kind of attitude.
  12. TWU-HOUSTON Fall 2006

I'm sorry to hear that about UT, but see what they say. And no, that wasn't me; I'm quite the opposite, I drive a camaro with a loud v8 engine
  13. TWU-HOUSTON Fall 2006

Yep, UT wears navy blue scrubs and you do get a white lab coat, but most don't wear it at clinicals. But don't base your decision on that
  14. UT-H vs. TWU-H costs

At UT, for 14 credit hours for the first two semesters, it's about 2200 each semester (and that includes health insurance). If you have your own, then it's 1900/semester, plus you'll need to buy books which was I believe around 700 (all new books, y...
  15. UT-HSC Fall '06 Applicants

Congrats to everyone who got in and for those that didn't, don't give up hope....not everyone who gets acceptance letters will decide to go to UT, so spaces will open up.
  16. UT-HSC Fall '06 Applicants

  17. UT-HSC Fall '06 Applicants

The acceptance packet will be bigger, but do not give up hope if you don't get in at first. I did not and then received a call one month later and was offered a spot.
  18. UT-HSC Fall '06 Applicants

Not to break the excitement, but everyone will have the same information on UT LINK. But to give a little excitement, I just heard they have picked the 2006 entering class, so I hope you guys hear something soon. :balloons:
  19. UT-HSC Fall '06 Applicants

Well as a nurse you are not given a lot of time to make a decision. A lot of your nursing care is based on "independent nursing functions" meaning you are the one caring for your patient without someone telling you what to do. . They are seeing ho...
  20. UT-HSC Fall '06 Applicants

There is a small lot right behind the school, it charges by the hour like most places, but you'll probably be there for 2 hours tops, so you may want to check into that. Also, there is the South Extension Lot.....I'm bad at directions but I'm sure y...
  21. UT-HSC Fall '06 Applicants

Oh man....yall sound just like I did when I was in this phase. I've spoken with some of you already about the interview phase. Currently I am student at UT-H (I'm in my second semester of the first year). If you have specific questions, please fee...
  22. Houston schools: TWU or UT ?

    Our date was April 15th.
  23. Houston schools: TWU or UT ?

UT bases it on a number of things....first they narrow down the top 25% based on GPA. Then those (usually around 400) come in for a writing sample/interview. Then they pick 140 out of that group, looking at the writing sample, grades, background, e...

  25. Houston apartment: safe and reasonably priced

You can check out: http://www.apartmentguide.com and http://www.rent.com for apartment listings. I have looked myself for medical center area apartments. There are few in the 500/month range but those don't include utilities. Good luck to you.
