Seventh Day Adventist and working on Sabbath???

Never mind that bans on pork and menstrual separation are from the Old Testament and we're discussing Christians who live under the new covenant.

    Never wear black scrubs.

Um.....what? Why do you care what color scrubs I wear, regardless of my patient population? I don't wear black because I have a white dog.

Are American hospitals ready for Ebola?

There have been several mentions here on the boards of people having to be retrained because they are removing PPE incorrectly and contaminating themselves. That's all you need.

    CNA allowed skills

I live in Arizona and when I worked in the hospital, the CNAs did the blood sugar checks. Where I work now, it's a nurse task. So it seems that legally, we can, but company policies vary.

    Thomas Eric Duncan and Hipaa

They aren't going to get the chance. He's critical and on a vent. I think Ebola will kill him long before a mob has any chance.

Nuh uh....I was raised in Oxnard too! :)

Nurses Who Don't Want to be Nurses

You clearly haven't had to support a family. You do what you have to. The reason I became a CNA is because my husband wanted to get out of the National Guard after his deployment to Afghanistan, and needed my help to replace that paycheck. I felt ...

    Doctor or Dockworker?

And everyone who has said they curse also said they know how to tone it down when need be.
  10. If anyone in my family gets Ebola, I can tell you what organization will appear at the top of my lawsuit paperwork.....

    Doctor or Dockworker?

Me too. Honey, I was raised by a sailor who became a cop, and he was raised by a sailor who left the Navy to go play with artillery in the Army. I was doomed to foul-mouthedness from conception. I'm not exactly proud of it, but I'm not really asham...

Are American hospitals ready for Ebola?

The Liberian government has stated that if he returns, they will prosecute him for lying on his health screening form. So it seems they think it's credible that he may have been exposed and lied about it to get on the plane.

Nurse manager who yells at people

Problem being that "eventually" occurs after the quality staff have been run off.

    Voluntary Euthanasia

Ok I know this makes me a grammar Nazi, but this is driving me crazy. Breath is a noun. "She took a breath." Breathe is the verb. "He continues to breathe."

    Favorite ways to decompress

I'm a CNA, not a nurse yet, but we all have the same challenge with self-care and stress relief, I think. What are your best, most-used stress relievers? Here are mine: Relaxing in my nice, deep oval bathtub with my husband and a glass of wine, trad...

    Music to study to

I think there are probably lots of us 80s kids whose primary exposure to classical music was Looney Tunes. Kinda sad but hilarious.

    condom catheters

Sure you can. And confused, agitated people tear them off.

    Should I dress up?

Dress for the job you want, not the one you have. It's been a saying for so long because it's true and it works.

    question about personal boundaries

If nothing else, watch yourself around that other nurse in the future. She's clearly willing to try and destroy people over piddling, stupid little things. Maybe she thinks she'll get more hours if you get canned?

Are American hospitals ready for Ebola?

Judging from how the first US hospital to get an Ebola case handled it, the answer is clearly no.

    Ebola here in Dallas USA

My 7 year old is home from school today with a seemingly minor viral illness. Let me tell you, I'm thinking differently about it than I ever have before. I actually had thoughts about losing one of my children to Ebola on the way to the gym this mo...

Hourly rounding. Are you kidding me?

That video is worthy of criminal charges. Also, don't the people who participated realize that it now exists on the internet forever? With their name badges visible? *headdesk*
