  1. I'm sorry but have you ever applied for a job? A résumé basically is a highlight of your skills and experiences for the job or position that you want. I suggest googling a sample résumé if you don't know what a résumé is suppose to consist of.
  2. Résumés should be no longer than one page. When applying for jobs most employers will immediately put your résumé in the trash pile if it exceeds one page.
  3. Yeah I think there's a reason to not follow it; mine says theres time conflicts with a few courses. Tuition's a grand total of 3386.44
  4. I wonder if they gave us all the same code 4574QK??? And after someone used it first it expired?
  5. Yeah after hours I'm calling tomorrow. I sent Lori an email but am calling first thing tomorrow
  6. Have you done it yet??? Looks like my code expired......it hasn't been 30 days yet either.
  7. Ahh okay great thanks. I guess I'll be on the lookout for it in the mail this week
  8. Has anyone gotten a package or anything about the criminal record search?
  9. Basically on the immunization records its just whether or not you already have been vaccinated and if you cannot get your records you can go and get a titer test done. They will give us the necessary vaccinations that we have not gotten or is now outdated and no longer protect us. The form basically lists just what we should be protected from. Anyways I handed mine in the other day, had trouble obtaining a Doctors or Public health nurses signature but I called BCITs Health Services and the lady I spoke to said its fine as long as theres the necessary information.
  10. They are supposed to mail a criminal record package to be completed in a specific time frame so we can wait on that. I'm sure if we don't have an orientation, the first week of classes will have orientation incorporated into it.
  11. If you are on TOP of the Holdlist they will let you know in the letter they send you. I was on top of the list for January. They guarantee you a spot for the next intake if they do not call you for the spot in the intake. I just deferred myself to the August intake.
  12. When is the Immunization record due? Is it the 27th? I emailed the nursing dept because mine says the 17th but they replied with it moving to the 27th.
  13. You pay a $200 fee to secure your acceptance; it will be used towards tuition fees.
  14. Also I realized the group might only be searchable under BCIT Groups so if you manage to get onto the BCIT network and then search "BCIT Nursing August 2013 Intake" it should show up since not everyone had access to the BCIT Nursing group page if they were not granted an invite to the group
  15. sorry guys, I just posted it on the BCIT Nursing group
  16. I'm making the group, "BCIT Nursing August 2013 Intake" Join it!!
  17. Is everyone part of the regular "BCIT Nursing" group on Facebook? I could make a August 2013 class group unless someone else would like to do it
  18. Well; does anyone have FB? We can still "meet" each other haha. I'm just as sad about the orientation being cancelled....how rude!
  19. My letter says Orientation is May 9th. So I hope you guys hear by next week
  20. yes those are required for the degree programs at BCIT
  21. Last year people got shortlisted around the 18th, and then rejections came out the following week
  22. Last year it was around March 26th that I even heard anything so it will be quite sometime still
  23. I'm hoping that all the sociology, eng and psych course in my degree transfer!-- it would make my summers actual summers so I won't need to take the electives at all. I have all the recommended courses I'll need to take that Health Management though.
  24. I applied 2 times in total. First time was for Aug 2012 intake, didn't even get shortlisted instead got a "non-accept". Second time was for this January intake, got shortlisted and then was on top of the holdlist which gave me a seat for sure for this August 2013 intake. I have a BSc in Psychology from UBCO and my volunteer was from high school as a Candy Striper, also my over GPA was not the greatest but showed great improvement in my last 2 years.--This was what I had the first time applying as well as the second time, but after applying the second time I took the LIBS 7001 & 7002 courses. So for any of you that don't think your grades will cut it, BCIT really just looks for people that show they are passionate about the program so make sure you show it by improving your grades the next time around and completing the necessary electives. Goodluck to those who are waiting!!
  25. Just got my provisional acceptance just now!! I was on top of the hold list and deferred to August so I was no longer on the hold list for January. So I hope that those who were guaranteed a spot will find out soon!!!
