  1. It's interesting at what you all zone in on in my posts. I post some good points, yet you focus on trivial stuff like how I said I stay 3 feet away from sick people. Now it's about the gov. Sheesh. You're right. We won't get anywhere. We will have to agree to disagree. I represent a growing number of people though. This message board has been very heavy in your favor; however, there are plenty more people out there who are beginning to question vaccines. There are many questioning a lot about our society. I feel we are on the verge of something new. More people will demand a more focused or functional medicine approach to healthcare. The current system is not working. More people are becoming aware of what is in their food and how it is affecting their health. More people than ever want a natural approach to their healthcare. Many take care of themselves in such a way so that they can avoid the doctor as much as possible. Pay the farmer or pay the doctor. It's true. I am great nurse regardless. I take great care of my patients. People who know me know this. I care about health. I care about other peoples health. I don't feel conventional health care offers enough by the way of wellness and holistic care. I think there needs to be lots of improvements in healthcare. There is too much focus on pushing pills and not enough focus on actually solving the problem. If that was working, we wouldn't see so many sick people. It's not working. It's an old system, and it needs to be updated.
  2. Here is a list of more inserts. While you may all criticize the source, the links lead to the gov pages on the insert. Influenza Disease and Vaccines - National Vaccine Information Center
  3. Safety probably wasn't tested. It says it wasn't "established."
  4. An informed decision is right. Or would it just be about how great vaccines are. How about letting her know that her child could die (but they say it's rare) or could become ill after the vaccine. Instead we tread lightly on those parts of education. We don't want to scare someone into not taking it but convince them that the risk is so low. But what if their child is the one.
  5. Maybe not on the bottle itself but in the insert. See here.... http://www.fda.gov/downloads/BiologicsBloodVaccines/Vaccines/ApprovedProducts/UCM263239.pdf "--USE IN SPECIFIC POPULATIONS---------------------• Safety and effectiveness of AFLURIA have not been established inpregnant women or nursing mothers. (8.1, 8.3)• Antibody responses were lower in geriatric subjects than in youngersubjects. (8.5)• AFLURIA is not approved for use in children less than 5 years of agebecause of increased rates of fever and febrile seizures. One comparatorcontrolledtrial demonstrated higher rates of fever in recipients ofAFLURIA as compared to a trivalent inactivated influenza vacc"
  6. I am aware of this. Handwashing. It works. I have only had the flu MAYBE 2 times ever in my life, and I have NEVER had the flu shot. Again, you took what I said out of context. I said, if I am around someone that is ill, I try to stay 3 feet away. At work, that is not possible. I have to wear a mask because I do not take the shot. I do not provide care from 3 feet away. Really? Do you honestly believe that is even possible?
  7. I have considered it.
  8. No, it's what is happening. You just can't see it or don't want to. If you take a look at history, you might better understand how governments tend to become corrupt. I wouldn't doubt it if we see another Hitler-like situation someday. Edward Snowden? Remember him? Yeah he busted out the gov for their surveillance program. I'm sure there is much more going on that we aren't even aware of. Conspiracy? Nope. It's just the truth. It's what is happening in the world. So why would I feel confident in gov funded studies?
  9. And you can all continue to believe in your tainted studies. Vaccines do cause harm to people, and I'm willing to bet it's more than we even know. It would take billions of dollars to study everything in this world. There are some things we just won't know because no studies will be done because it won't be important enough. Some here seem to think that they only believe in a treatment because of a study. If the study says it's good, it must be good. Really? Again, data can be twisted. Again, sometimes personal observation is evidence enough.
  10. I agree. Thank you for your input. You are not a horrible person and don't let anyone here make you feel that way.
  11. That's funny. It really is. Of course, you know it's not true. You don't know me. You take what I say out of context and twist it to your liking. It's really just a stab at me.
  12. I doubt that. I am amazed at how many go along with various scientific studies, claiming it as truth, when there has been evidence of scientists twisting the data. This can happen especially by those who take a special interest in the study group itself.
  13. That is not the only reason why.
  14. They could wear masks couldn't they? Yeah they should take precautions as well.
  15. Your comment was sarcastic and related back to when I mentioned that I stay 3 feet away from sick people. However, if you read in context what I was saying you would understand that when I provide patient care, I wear a mask. Masks are required for patients in droplet precautions.
  16. Just because there is no evidence doesn't mean it isn't a problem.
  17. Exactly. That's how I care for them. I'm pretty good if I can provide patient care like that.
  18. I did...right here...Vaccines to prevent influenza in healthy adults | Cochrane Also, I wouldn't say that vaccines and autoimmune issues could have a link is a lie. It's possible. It's also possible that vaccines do cause other health problems and maybe even contribute to cancer, but we don't know for sure do we? Have studies been done? I don't know. I doubt it. Most studies are trying to show how safe it is.
  19. I highly doubt we would see a disaster. These diseases are rare. Take Ebola for instance, it came here to the US and now boom, it's gone. Not that many got infected....because of precautions and better sanitation. If everyone were to stop being vaccinated, I really wonder if we would even see a large scale disease outbreak. As was said before, the rates of the diseases we vaccinate against were in decline when the vaccines came out. What we should be worrying about are superbugs and the overuse of antibiotics. Will our antibiotics even work in 10 or 20 years? That's much more scary don't you think? But we continue to feed antibiotics to livestock, the live stock most people eat unless you can afford organic and grass-fed. Also, it's in the water supply. Then doctors prescribe them to patient's for a little sniffle. Most illnesses are caused by viruses, which we all know antibiotics won't help.
  20. Well it could be fact if someone wanted to fund a study to show it. The reason they think this is because of the increase in autoimmune and other health problems that were not seen until kids started getting 40+ shots in their youth. I doubt those numbers. Also, you're right, our diet is junk, that's why many processed foods have to have vitamins and minerals added to it. But still, sanitation is way better. Wrong. The media is scaring people and telling everyone to get a booster. Science when funded by the gov is not always trustworthy in my opinion. As I stated before data can be skewed. I don't believe in herd immunity. I think it's a ridiculous way to force others into getting vaccinated. The flu won't kill me because flu deaths are inflated. I'm not scared of the flu. I haven't been sick in years. I do the simple basic things....eat right, exercise, wash my hands, wash my hands before I eat, touch my face, and when I come home from anywhere, it's the first thing I do.
  21. Exactly. So why get the flu shot if you can prevent yourself and others from getting it by washing your hands? Does the vaccine give a false sense that the vaccinated cannot spread it? Handwashing isn't always performed. I've been a witness.
  22. I find the vaccine issue to be very personal for everyone. Those who question or don't want them are made to feel like they don't have control about what goes into their bodies. Many feel like the vaccine schedule is just too much on a young child's immune system. That's what was presented in the Bought documentary. I don't believe anyone was antivax. They just questioned it, and asked that it be made safer. Much of what we vaccinate against is prevalent in third world countries where sanitation and access to healthy foods are not available. I used to believe in vaccines. Over the past several years, I've learned a lot. As I age, I want to be as healthy as I can. Food and nutrition have a huge impact on every cell in the body...more than many give credit to. I'm not worried about the flu or measles, and I won't allow the media to scare me into getting vaccinated. I will move out of this country before I ever let a government force that on me. I get that the vaccinated fear those who are not vaccinated, but think about it. I believe it to be like a placebo effect. There are probably many walking around, assuming since they were vaccinated as children, they are safe. It's a false sense of security. No one really knows if they are protected unless a titer is drawn. The flu vaccine is the same. I think it gives nurses a false sense of security thinking they can't spread it. If germs like viruses live on surfaces, that vaccinated nurse could just as well pick it up and transfer it to the patient. Not only that, it's not even that effective....studies have shown.Alliance for Human Research Protection - Cochrane Collaboration: Flu Vaccines of No Benefit It's actually sickening each year to listen to the big push for everyone to get their flu shot. Just a decade ago, it was recommended for ages 65+. Then they decided to broaden the market and tell the entire population to get vaccinated against the flu. It's crazy! I'm completely healthy and have an immune system that works top notch. I'm not going to chance that by accepting a flu vac. I can envision if I did...I would end up with some autoimmune issue. No thanks. I have only had influenza maybe two times in my almost 4 decades on this earth.
  23. I am in that discouraged place right now. I live in a smaller town, and we do have a complimentary medicine practice but nothing else that I know of. I work at a hospital because it's close to where I live, but I struggle with how things are run every time I work. I see the same routine thing going on...the same sick people time and again. I get frustrated that nutrition is never really talked about in the healthcare setting, and so many are on drugs unnecessarily. I believe food is medicine. If the body is supported by nutrient rich foods without pesticides, it will thrive. So many people have cured themselves of (or brought under control) IBS, allergies, RA, and much more. I think the hospital food is terrible and don't get me started on that sludge they call 2cal. I'm just so frustrated with the whole system. I don't fit there, and I find that many nurses think conventionaly and don't seem to understand. They consider holistic to be quack stuff. They don't get it because their eyes are not opened to the possibility of something better.
  24. How come when I post an opinion piece you all shove it in my face, but then you post opinions as well. Hmmm....
  25. This is your opinion. Do you know why there are not studies???? Because why would pharmaceutical companies fund it? Do they have a gain? Does that mean it doesn't work? No. It means that you base your opinion on studies only...whether it is cherry picked and contains false or tainted data. You wouldn't know. Scientists are being told to produce false data. I can't make that point anymore clear. Just because there has not been a study done in a particular area does not mean that it doesn't work. It's so limited to just live your life based on studies alone. People who are involved in Homeopathy most likely do so because they have noticed evidence of it's benefits themselves.
